This is another excellent quality Playmobil product. The negative side of this is the length of time it takes to put it all together. The twenty five various sized boxes have to be assembled and then all of the toys need to be placed inside before attaching the boxes onto the cardboard holder. When viewing this item on-line there was no explanation of this, therefore the set up time was not anticipated. It was well explained on the box, so if you looked at this on a store shelf you would know right away.
Because of the high quality toys, it was worth the time. I just feel that this detail should be part of the on-line description.

Though my children are now both high school students, we continue to get a Playmobil advent calendar every year. It does take some setting up by me in advance, but I look forward to seeing all the pieces and adding them to the boxes. The pieces can be easily added to existing Playmobil sets when the holidays are over. (We have quite a collection of santas for any future grandchildren!) I think anyone with young children (over age 3 since the pieces are small) will enjoy any one of these calendars. Playmobil also puts out a new scene every year so you aren't repeating the same pieces. Another added bonus is that Playmobil is NOT manufactured in China so you need not worry about the paint. Overall this is a quality product that makes the countdown to Christmas fun.

This is our 8th year with the Playmobil Advent Calendar. This was a great one!

I ordered this for my 3 1/2 year old since I had a Lego Advent Calendar for his older brother. Luckily I opened the box to look at it before December 1st because assembly was required. My husband and I had to put together individual boxes and put the correct toy in each day. It wasn't hard, but suprising since the product description didn't tell us about assembly. The toys were ok and he enjoyed playing with them. Some days were more exciting than others, but at 3 years old he wasn't too disappointed in getting a tree or a bird. I would recommend this product.

My son and daughter are in 4th and 5th grade--we've been getting the advent calendar for years and they always love them--I'm sad to see there's no new one this year, but I'm sure we'll enjoy setting up everything from our old calendars and the nativity set. These are great sets--they look forward to setting everything up every year, and it's a time that they really play together, which, at their ages, is pretty special. I highly recommend it. Playmobil needs to make a new set!

I bought this advent calendar a few years ago for my girls. They LOVE it. It's not worth 108 dollars, as sold on 11/21/10, but it's worth 50. I'll keep this for my youngest daughter and grandkids too! The child gets to open one box each day, all of which sets the scene for Christmas in the park.
