When my daughter first chose this set a few months back, I was skeptical. It didn't seem like the most open-ended Playmobil set out there, and besides I was hoping she'd choose the RV, which I kind of wanted to play with myself. Anyway, not my toy, so we brought this one home.

The building structure in this set is identical to the take-along house, which is a bit more expensive. And while the lithographs on the wall are different, it actually double quite nicely as a house, or a (fancy) pirate's lair or really any other kind of place you could want it to be. Once you fill the rooms with stuff you don't really notice the clinic theme on the walls.

As for the items that come with it, it's a nice arrangment that can actually serve as doctor's office as well as an animal clinic.

For the animal clinic, there are four little cages, maybe a dozen animals (dogs, cats, rabbits, and the guinea pigs - which are just way too cute and have their own little hutch). The examining table, medical devices, bandages (which fit the people too) are versatile items, as are the ultrasound device, surgical equipment, office equipment, and waiting room components.

I was tempted to dock this item a star for making me create my own (rather unattractive) lithos to apply to the screens of both the ultrasound device and computer. At first I thought my set was missing this crucial component, but a second look at the pictures on the box suggested this was an intentional oversight. Would it have killed them to make an ultrasound image and a computer screen image, and include these with the set?

However, the missing lithographs aside, this set has far more possibilities that I would have initially credited it with. It makes really good use of the random sets we've picked up along the way, as well as being a perfect playset in its own right.

For those concerned with product origin, this Playmobil set is made in Germany, not made in China.

This was a Christmas gift for my niece. She loves it. She carries the toy pieces with her in a backpack so that she can play while visiting relatives. It was a good choice as a gift.

We purchased this as a Christmas present and it was a hit. The pieces are very well made and closely resemble actual pets. The imagination play it helps create is magical to watch. We have several Playmobil sets and it is well worth the money.

Kids had a great time with this. There are a lot of pieces to go with it so you can let your children's imagination take them where they want to go. They loved it! Some small pieces so be careful for small children!

i bought this toy for my 7 yo grandson, we also purchased the xray add on accessories. he and his siblings play for hours putting all the sets of playmobile together. definitely a winner, well worth the price/ investment.

My neice loved this toy. It continues to provide hours of play for her.
