Product Description

Product Description

Sherlock is a challenging game that rewards sharp wits, steel trap memories, and deduction skills. Each player has to memorize a set of eight cards before they are placed face down. The junior sleuth who can memorize the most is the winner.

From the Manufacturer

As Sherlock goes around and searches the clues, every player tries to remember each of the eight objects hidden in a facedown circle of cards. Then, Sherlock travels from one card to another. Each time Sherlock stops at a facedown card, the player has to remember which object is on that card. Sherlock continues to move, as long as the player guesses correctly. If Sherlock travels to a face-up card, then the player gets to keep that card. The first player to collect six cards wins!

I bought this game for my 4 year-old grandson because he loves to play Memory and it seemed that he might like this game as well. We have played it over and over without tiring of it. All members of our family enjoy it immensely.

The game is very easy to play and the rules are quick to learn. It's a simple game, but it isn't as easy as you might think so even adults and older children will be challenged. I would highly recommend this fun and inexpensive game!

Sherlock is a fun memory game that my kids often request as a pre-bedtime activity. To set up the game, 8 cards (we used 6 cards initially when the kids were getting used to the game) are drawn and placed face-up in a ring around the remainder of the deck which serves as a draw pile. Everyone gets a chance to look at the 8 cards for 30 seconds or so, then all cards are flipped face-down. The player to the right of the start player then places the "Sherlock" card next to one of the 8 cards. The start player then must say what object is on that card. If the player is correct, the card is flipped face-up and the next card is determined by the number and the direction of the arrow printed on the top of the card just revealed (i.e. the player might next have to remember what is on the card 2 cards clockwise from that card or 4 cards counter clockwise....). Play continues until the player incorrectly identifies an object (in which all cards are flipped face-down again) or the arrows lead to a card which has already been revealed (in which case that card is placed in front of the player and a new card from the draw deck is put in its place). The first person to collect 6 cards wins the game.

49 cards are included with the game and pictures on the cards include simple objects such as a clock, a fish, a banana, a feather, etc... The cards are slightly smaller and thicker than your average playing card making them relatively sturdy. Sherlock works well for kids from about age 4 on up and plays in approximately 15 minutes making this a great before-bedtime game. The small deck of cards also packs well making this a great game to throw in the suitcase when going on vacation. We enjoy this one!

This game is an excellent educational game that builds your memory skills. The best thing is the kids don't even realize the educational value because they're having so much fun! A twist on basic memory that makes it a lot more fun. I have YET to beat my kids at this game. We have even adjusted the number of cards on the playing area so I might have a better shot at competing with them - but their minds are just better at this than mine! Quick game to learn and our 7 person family from ages 4 to 40 are all on the same playing level. 10 seconds to set up, 15 minutes to play the game. Nice, short, simple, fun game. Perfect!

This is basically a memory game. My K and 2nd grader really like it and it definitely changes it up a bit. We play it quite a bit.

A fun game to play even with the small ones since no reading is required. It only needs a good memory!

During the holidays I visited my grandchildren and gave them this game. They loved the game morning, noon and nighttime. They even preferred the game over the high tech computer/television based games they recently received as birthday and Christmas gifts.

I spoke with their mom this month and they're still playing the game regularly. My 7-year old grandson has improved his attention and listening skills too by using/playing the game. I'm a former teacher and highly recommend this game; it's actually fun for adults and would be excellent for elderly folks too that need to sharpen up their memory skills.

We play a shortened version of this game (using half or fewer cards). When playing with the 6 and 8 year old, the 4 year old occasionally needs some hints to keep up, but no one minds. They all enjoy playing together. Frankly, my 8 year old can skunk me and my 6 year old gives me a run for my money. This is an excellent brain challenge for parents also, while being fun for all at the same time!

The cards are heavy duty, solid, durable.

I will be getting this for some nieces and nephews this year.

Be warned - don't attempt this game on the floor with an active toddler around because the cards need to stay in order!

Arrived quickly and as described. Looks fun. We have not played it as it was purchased as a gift for our grandchildren.
