Who knows what makes a person say a work is bad? Perhaps lack of understanding? Maybe it was a lack of patience in understanding such a well thought out work. I could moan about the overplayed nature of other works in our body of guitar lit, but I'd rather just say that this CD is an example of a fine player performing substantial works. Know Dyens? You need to know the works of Kleynjans to appreciate the influence.

Although not well known outside guitar circles, Roberto Aussel is a real musician's musician, specialising in the 20th century repertory, with outstanding interpretive ability and a very beautiful tonal range.

The pieces on the album are mostly very accessible to all (although it must be said that Ginastera's Sonata isn't for everybody).
