Fantastic Anthology,
This review is from: Plays and Playwrights 2002 (Paperback)
This is an amazing anthology, which serves as the best chronicle of the off-off-Broadway scene. Although I found nearly all of the plays in this collection to be great reads, one that I really enjoyed was Marc Chun's "Match" -- an innovative and moving piece. In fact, I actually read it twice in one sitting, because after I came to the ending I immediately read it again in the same way I bought another ticket to see "The Sixth Sense" (to appreciate the clues that only in retrospect suddenly seemed right in front of my face) right after seeing that the first time. Bravo to Mr. Denton for collecting this and the other plays in this volume.

Talent, pure and simple,
By Thomas B Neenan (Danvers, MA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Plays and Playwrights 2002 (Paperback)
"The Death of King Arthur" by Matthew Freeman is enough to make this collection worth purchasing! I was lucky enough to attend a reading of this play and even at that early stage I was floored by its richness and power. It has since been performed and recieved a gushing review from the New York Times. Challenging and entertaining. Matthew Freeman is a talent worth keeping an eye on!
