The images on the paper scroll inside this toy only advance in one direction. When it gets to the end of the scroll, it sticks and makes a grinding noise. You have to fight with it to get it to go back towards the beginning of the alphabet. Because of this we have seeen the letters x,y, and z maybe 1,000 times and a,b, or c like twice. It's a complete piece of crap.

This toy was great, but then the scroll got stuck and would not go past "T". I have 2 girls, 4 and 15 mo and they are pretty hard on toys. This is only the second toy we have ever had to get rid of because it broke. Got it for Christmas, and it's junk not even a month later. I would not purchase again.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I really adore this toy for my 16 month old daughter. It's the next step above the simple toys (which I've nicknamed "push-beep toys") where you press buttons to make it beep or play a song ... like all the toy cell phones or play tables.... This has so much going on - because the screen actually changes 26 times - but it's very easy to operate. My daughter can pull the elephant trunk like it's a slot machine (yeah ... well ... I couldn't think of a better analogy) and she knows that that makes the screen change to a new letter.

She can sort of play on my ipad, but she doesn't really know what she's doing, and she exits the app accidentally, or drops the iPad ... it's just not appropriate yet. Neither is a leappad ... And she's past the very basic toy pianos, fake laptops, and cellphones. Those bore her because they don't do anything. This doesn't bore her. It's just really really engaging, and it has her fooled - she seems to think it's as cool as an iPad because of the vivid screen pictures that change.

Just really really love this.

The only advice I would give to playskool ... and it doesn't take away too much from the toy ... is that when you get to the end of the alphabet, it gets stuck if you keep trying to advance. I think they should figure out how to go from Z back to A. But now if you progress from A to Z, you have to press the leftside button backwards to get back to A. You can't just keep pulling the elephant trunk. And that's usually the point where my daughter gives up. But by that point she's also been playing with it for a full alphabet's worth!

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I got this toy for my six month old grandson with the idea that his 2 year 9 month old sister would help him explore using it. Although the age range listed is 6 months to 36 months, this is too "babyish" for my granddaughter to use on her own. But she loves showing her baby brother how to do things.

There are so many "educational" toys on the market that are either junk or very limited, but not this toy. It offers a lot of variety in a creative and fun way. This was definitely well thought out and not overpriced.

This also comes in pink, though that product is called the Adventure Elephant. But it has all the same features (I know because it was accidentally sent to me, and I returned it for the blue Adventure Elefun).

Bottom line: Buying this toy is money well spent.

What is not to love. The process of language development starts at home. Elefun introduces our 8 month old granddaughter to 100 words enriching her limited vocabulary and 75 sound effects, tunes and activities making learning both educational and fun.

Pulling the trunk on Elefun makes the screen scroll. When the spinning screen lands randomly on an image, Elefun Playskool Learnimals ABC Adventure Elefun announces the image in the picture for example guitar with a guitar sound or frog with the sound a frog teaching sound-object association. We can also toggle through the alphabet letter by letter to teach her ABCs in order.

As hand-eye coordination improves, my granddaughter has begun to explore objects in greater detail. I love that Elefun allows her to exercise her fine motor skills by manipulating the different slides and buttons like the drum or the butterfly used to teach her counting. Lifting the elephant's ear she finds a letter that also corresponds with the image for example: "E! E is for elephant." Pulling down the mouse shows her shapes and colors. Elefun also says fun phrases like peekaboo.

Available in both pink and blue we feel Playskool Learnimals ABC Adventure Elefun is a toy that excels in developing skills through communication, motor skills, per-literacy and creativity.

Well done Playschool!

The Playskool ABC Adventure Elephant is fun and educational. I am an Amazon Vine Reviewer, but I am also a parent, aunt, teacher, and future grandparent who rated this toy in regards to how it will benefit the kids in my life. The age range for this toy is 6 months - 36 months. I love this toy because it is so educationally diverse. It teaches over 100 first words, ABCs, numbers, shapes, colors, and opposites. It makes over 75 sound effects and tunes. It comes in pink and blue. If you pull on the elephant's trunk it teaches new words. If you slide the cute little butterfly it helps to count. If you pull the elephant's ear...it reveals the appropriate letter that corresponds with the picture. If you pull the mouse down it teaches shapes and colors. Roll the drum and hear more words. The scrolling images light up and you learn animals and objects. The toggle button allows you to advance or backup. There will not be a dull or boring moment with all the various colors, sounds, and choices of activities to learn. It is durable and safe from what I can see. The box has an open face so that you can sample the item.
