Let your little one push, pop and pick up with a fun elephant pal. Pushing the Pop 'n Pick Up Elefun makes colorful balls pop out of the elephant's trunk and it's baby's guess which way they'll roll. Then it's their job to steer the toy to roll over the balls and pick them up to start the fun all over again. The put-and-take ball play will help baby learn cause and effect and practice her gross motor skills, but your child will it's just an elephant-powered ball. With five colorful balls and unpredictable surprises, the Pop 'n Pick Up Elefun is exciting, engaging and, most of all, fun.

The PlaySkool Poppin' Park Popn' Pick Up Elefun Toy combines the Elefun and a new take on the old push popcorn popper. Playskool also produces the popular PlaySkool Park Elefun Busy Ball Popper, which is fun but a little loud. The Pick Up toy has a couple of advantages it helps to encourage your child to walk (and chase the balls) and it is much quieter than the Busy Ball Poppers.

Notes-

- Your child pushed the toy and has balls pop out of the Elefun's trunk. The Elefun can then suck up the balls as you roll over them!

- This is one of the rare toys that works better on carpet than on wood floors. On hardwood floors the balls roll everywhere (like... under furniture)

- Toddlers (even preschoolers) may have a tough time picking up the balls with the toy - the combination of a small opening and rolling bars makes it more difficult than you would think.

- Does not require batteries - so it is relatively quiet. This is a nice contrast to the Playskool Busy Ball Poppers which can be pretty loud!

- Comes with 5 balls and three can be stored in the handle

- Designed for children ages 18 and up - but children over 3 years may get bored.

- Some minor assembly is required - does require a philips head screwdriver

Final Verdict - A fun and (relatively) quiet toy for toddler. They may become a little frustrated in trying to pick up the balls, but this is one toy that you can purchase for a child without getting an angry eye from a parent.

I bought this for my nephew who is just learning to walk. It's wonderful. Very stable in front, so unlike other "poppers," it helps keep him balanced. And, bonus, when he's not using it to walk, it is fun to play with on the ground!!!!

I ordered this toy from the Amazon Vine program and received the older version that is stationary and does not pick up the balls.

Having said that, this toy is hilarious!! I rightly assumed that my 1 year old grandson would love it. He figured out how to make it work in the first 2 minutes. And chasing the balls is just another fun part of the game. I did not expect that the teens would sit down and play with him. This sweet elephant makes everyone laugh.

I would hesitate to order this toy from Amazon, as there seems to be a problem with which one you will actually receive.

I actually received an older model of this toy that requires batteries and plays slightly obnoxious music, but the model shown above seems to have eliminated both of those complaints. My kids have loved playing with the balls and elephant. The balls are lightweight enough to allow the toy to pop them up easier but they are still sturdy enough that my kids haven't squished or dented any of them. I would definitely recommend this toy - I am amazed at how long it entertains my toddlers!

It is designed to teach hand/eye coordination and the concept that just because you can’t see something doesn’t mean it no longer exists. It has bright colors and is fun to play with. It is also something that the child can play with alone or would be very fun to play with a parent or older sibling.

Reminds me a little of the corn popper I had as a kid (and gave to my own kids), only much more advanced - sort of like those putting machines, only for little ones.

This seemed like a great idea for my 20 month old, but she hasn't touched it since we opened it on Christmas. It's very cute though. Comes with 5 balls that pop out and pop back in when rolled over, but unfortunately my daughter doesn't really dig it. So that's the only reason I gave it 3 stars.

My nephew is that age where he should be learning his colors and how to spell them. My sister and her husband think it may be too early, but with me being an early childhood teacher ... I don't think so. So, how do I use this toy, I let him spit out the balls for a bit through the elephant and zero in on what color(s) he tends to repeat. After a while I start to say the color as it shoots out of the elephant. Then I take the color away from him and ask him to say the color. Yes, the child did get antsy. But don't we all. After he said the name of the color I gave it to him. After a bit of this, we progressed into him spelling it, breaking the word up phonetically. It took all of two hours. Will he remember this? Probably not, but through the process of repetition, it will get drilled into his head. This can be used as an extension to the other colors and bigger words. You can ask if the child likes the color of the elephant, teach them how to spell it using the same strategy as above.

Something else that I love, this little toy teaches kids to clean up after themselves. They have to do all the work. Make them go for their own balls, within reason, sometimes they roll under things that you may not want your child under, say the couch or entertainment center. Also, praise them for retrieving the balls and make sure to say phrases like, "Yay, you're a little cleaner." Make sure you really drill home the word "clean" and all its suffixes. Let the child forge a connection with cleaning and praise.

The toy is lovely, it's bright, colorful, sturdy. And once you combine that with a bit of cognitive application -- you've got a winner!
