I ordered this toy because my 1 year old loves to play with toys that pop up and down and are interactive. After reading all of the great reviews, I had such high hopes of this being a fun toy for him. When it arrived, I immediately noticed how cheaply made it was and was very small. I definitely paid WAY too much for this toy. The "bedbugs" are too hard for him to press down, even with his bare hands. He ends up using the hammer to hit on everything else in the house, which he loves but I could have saved myself a lot of money and just purchased a hammer. Do not waste your money on this toy!

If this is a present for someone who lives in New York city or the environs, giving this to the parent of an infant is an act of hostility.

If this is exchanged as a present between people who lives in a non urban environment, this is a statement of blithe ignorance. Of bliss. Of a gentle life where bedbugs are only things in sayings, never a reality. Where panic is a vocabulary word, an example of the use of the -ic suffix. Of never needing to know how bedbugs look when instars, when large enough to infect your house and your neighbor. That they will never, ever, never be orange, green, purple, or red.

If this is a present from someone who lives in New York city to someone who lives in New York city, and everyone laughs and giggles when you open it, everyone open a hand mirror, look into it and say "I am rich." Or "I am exteremely well adjusted and able to forgive." We all know the first one is more accurate.

I bought this for my son because someone gave my mother in law one to keep at her house. He loves it. He is only 1 and has not learned how to use the hammer part yet, but he can spend a good amount of time entertaining himself just pushing down the ones that pop up.
