I just bought this controller two days ago even though I already have another wireless guitar hero controller, and this thing ROCKS! Its the best controller I've played with ever, and I've played like four different controllers. Its about 4/5's smaller over-all compared to normal controllers but the button layout is just as spread out and easy to use. What I liked most about this controller though is that the fret buttons, strum bar, and Start/Select buttons are perfectly reactive, like you have to actually make an effort to push down the buttons which makes it harder to accidentally press the wrong button, but its NOT hard enough to wair out your fingers. PLUS, I just bought "Guitar Hero: Encore, Rock the 80's" which is the newest game in the guitar hero line and this controller works awesome for it also even though this controller came out long before the new game. I'd give it a 10 out of 10! BUY IT!!!

I have like 3 weeks using it oftenly with guitar hero I, II and Encore, and it's been great!! their small size makes it a little easier to handle, the fret and strum buttons works smoothly and the select and start and select buttons are perfectly positioned. the wireless works perfectly too. It comes with two different skins to choose (spider web and broken glass) A+ product

Love the size and weight of this replacement guitar but it's wireless was spotty and inconsistent. It always worked well when connected, but getting connected was the issue. The wireless receiver always picked up the signal, but it required too many reboots/resets to be consistently working. The Red Octane always works on first try. Sent back to Target, gonna try the Flying V next. Will review when tried.

This guitar has a cool look, but it just doesn't work good. The buttons are spread too far apart, and they kept sticking. It was pretty annoying. And then the whammy bar broke and that was a let down. I do not recommend this product to anyone who likes to play seriously.

I read reviews about the guitar, and heard good things. Got it and it didn't seem to work properly. Asked for help from the maker. Got voice mail and instructions in their voice mail (must have had many problems) and had to wait due to Xmas I'm sure. Finally got to someone live and they gave further things to try but NOTHING was working. My local Target never could tell me if they had it in or will be getting it. Finally the maker offered to replace it with postage paid on them. Great

Worked great the first time. Only.
The whammy bar became lose right away. The buttons are VERY forgiving and you will HIT notes when you shouldn't and don't hit notes when you should.
Biggest problem is the star power. The detector doesn't work unless I really crank the guitar upwards at least 3 times, causing me to miss alot of notes. There is a rattle in the guitar I thought was from the detector for the star power, now I'm wondering. I want a corded one again.

I have to write this review from my own experiences. I think the controller is very good, however, because I am left handed, the whammy bar becomes a nuisance at difficult levels of guitar hero. I will give the company who made the Hammer credit for at least thinking of us lefties when they made the strap pegs, because they are on both sides for left or right holding positions. Overall, the controller is quick to react with little to no drag time. It's nice not to wrestle with the cord and it's a great price for a cordless guitar controller. Works great with all versions of guitar hero and is easy to operate. Good product!

the issue with this guitar is that the buttons either stick or don't respond. additionally the whammy bar breaks VERY easily and stopped working shortly after i got the guitar. i found the shorter neck a pain because im taller than the average person. The star power is hard to trigger and the start and select buttons are placed that they get pressed a lot during play.
Overall poor quality and not low reliability.

The buttons are hard to push and the strut bar squeaks a lot. Contrary to what someone else said, the buttons are not closer together than the Red Octane; but the neck is shorter. Spend the extra $$ to get the real thing.

Okay, so I probably bought this thing about a year and half ago, but only used it regularly for a few months. I picked it back up again and it is broken, out of nowhere. Only the blue and orange keys work.

Before breaking, it was okay,[...]. I would definitely not purchase anything from this manufacturer again.
