Trust me I've tried all the different infant cups and this is by far the best!
Ryan Gwilliam
My biggest issue is that the small straws are easy to lose in the dishwasher, and there are no replacements readily available.
Bethany Adams
The liquid comes up and out of the straw very slowly, so I didn't even notice it at first.

I love the Playtex straw cups. My son was breastfeed until almost one and never drank from a bottle and wouldn't take to a normal sippy cup. Finally I decided to try the Playtex Straw cups and never looked back. He took to them amazingly. I do prefer the insulated Playtex straw cups over the normal ones I am currently reviewing as they have cute designs and are thicker with the plastic.

Why I gave 4/5-

1. The straw sometimes disconnects from the little valve inside the cup and you have to fish it out of the drink.
2. It sometimes leaks out milk from to much pressure inside the cup.

I have tried alot of straw cups and this is the BEST! I just tried Munckin Mighty Grip and its a pain to clean and my toddler has a hard time drinking it because you have to really suck on the straw for something to come out! So me and my daughter prefer Playtex. I saw reviews saying it leaks out, but what i've learned is if you dont over tighten it or under tighten it it wont come out of the straw. It has an arrow with a line to show you where it should be so there wont be a problem :)

I love these cups. Ignore the other 1 star reviews. I had the same problem they did with milk leaking up the straw, but I figured out that it only does that if the straw isn't inserted properly!

If you only barely put the straw in the rubber piece under the lid it will not spill at all ever I promise! If you push it in all the way then you will get milk everywhere.

Trust me I've tried all the different infant cups and this is by far the best!

I loved the old design because they were inexpensive so if one got lost at daycare, no big deal, right? My 19 month old hates it and more and more, I am finding that I do too. Some of the pros are actually cons, here's why:

Pros:
- It's sealed really well and we've had no issues with leaks.
- The close flap is VERY secure; maybe too secure for some.
- It's easy for little hands to hold.
- Inexpensive.
- Fits in stroller and car seat cup holder (the old design does not as it is slightly square shaped).

Cons:
- It's sealed so well that it creates a strong suction. You can actually hear the suction being created when my 19 month old is taking a drink and when she releases, it lets out a loud whistle from sucking the air back in. Basically, there's nothing letting air in in order to make it easier to get liquid out. I have tried drinking from it and it is significantly harder to drink from than her other straw sippys.
- The switch to "close" it, while secure, is MUCH too difficult for my 19 month old to manipulate than the old design. She's very independent and is at that stage where she likes to do things on her own.
-The straws, while sealed, are a little difficult to pull out of the lid when you need to clean them; especially if your hands are already soapy and slippery.
- If you lose straws, good luck finding replacements. We can't and now can't even use the sippy anymore.
- If you are familiar at all with the Playtex straw design, know that where the two straws attach is still the same BUT we have had issues with the "plug" part of the straw coming unplugged on it's own and therefore, you have to constantly take the lid off and re-plug it.

Needless to say, we are not using these anymore.
