Book Description

Playtime is a novel of suspense and romance.

What would you do if you got a second chance at life? Would you change what you are doing right now? Blaine Hadrock is one of the few to get that opportunity. It could be said that his eyes have been opened. It's summer in Galveston, and just like every other year, for thousands of people it's playtime. The beaches are packed, and the island is rocking. But for a few, the summer isn't about having fun. It's about surviving. And the way things are going for Blaine and his girlfriend Renee, a second chance might not be enough.

Game Time, the second Blaine Hadrock novel of suspense, is now available!

4.0 out of 5 stars Love is given definition! March 25, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
To be honest, I selected this novel off of the free books listing in the Kindle bookstore. Very shortly into the novel, I found myself wondering why something with so much value was offered for free. A wonderful tale of love, second chances, and justice served makes this a fabulous read for a broad spectrum of interests. A bit of language and sensual situations, in my opinion calls for an age limit of around 17 to 18 years old. But, for those who dig hopeless romanticism, suspense, and good vs. evil thrills rolled into one you will not be disappointed with this one. Thanks Bart!

5.0 out of 5 stars playtime May 4, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
do you ever just get a notion that that you were "saved from death" for a purpose? I liked this book and it held my attention. The author could have expanded on the 'saved from death for a reason' spin. He also could have thrown in a couple more clues on why the suspect was suspected. Intuition goes a long way but just "knowing" who the suspect is with no other clues was kind of weird.

This was a quick and enjoyable read. Though there were a couple of small holes in the story line, it was enjoyable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very interesting! March 20, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Bart Hopkins Jr. Uses very fresh language which is a huge relief from the average dry and very tasteless author. Also while have great key scenes and great sections in between those scenes, he seems to keep the whole story very realistic and stays away from turning it into an unlikely to happen story! Great book!

5.0 out of 5 stars An engaging read April 9, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed Playtime - I thought the author did a great job of a slow buildup to an exciting finish. He paints a vivid picture of summer time in Galveston, and the characters were well-written, flawed and nuanced. I look forward to reading more by Hopkins in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Playtime February 9, 2014
By Jean

Great editing. I loved that the main character actually used his brain. He did things that could be dangerous but he thought it through first. First he is told his girlfriend is dead. He is puzzled by the police not wanting his dna.It is up to him to figure what is really going on.

I couldn't understand a Vietnam Veteran in today's real time, how old is the character to be? I thought the book was too long and drawn out.

3.0 out of 5 stars Author isn't bad but the story was just okay
The writing was good but I couldn't shake the feeling that I was reading propaganda. Still the story flowed but was predictable and the character development was okay.
