Grand Daughter loves the rhymes and picture book,

This review is from: Playtime Rhymes for Little People (HC with CD) (Hardcover)
My Grand daughter sways back and forth to the music and rhymes, and loves the book. It's sturdy enough to withstand her trying to eat the pages, as that's what the young one's do with everything they can get their hands on.
Highly recommended.

We have a LOT of children's books. My two girls, 1 and 4, are enamored with books. This book, though, is super special. We love that the book includes lots of finger games. They are very fun for kids of many ages (even the preteen cousins like doing them with the girls). Not all are finger games. Some are bouncing knee type songs. Others are counting songs. Some of the songs, like Hanky Panky and Round and Round the Garden, have become staples to make the baby laugh in our household, even without the book or CD. Also, we've discovered that the CD is great on its own just to put in the CD player. It is beautifully sung by a mom and her daughters and is not the slightest bit annoying. It's just mellow yet also fun - the perfect combo! As others have noted, the book itself is gorgeous too. I highly recommend.

Not quite as good as Mother Goose by this same illustrator,

I am hooked on Clare Beaton -- her illustrations are dynamite! But this book is not as much fun as the Mother Goose she did -- I was hoping for fewer finger-play rhymes (like itsy-bitsy spider) and more London Bridge-type rhymes. Just childhood sing-song would have pleased me better. However, the illustrations are out of this world. You really can't go wrong with this book. And if finger play is your thing, then this is your book for sure.

We're big fans of all of Clare Beaton's Barefoot books - in particular, Playtime Rhymes for Little People and Mother Goose. It's too bad this book appears to be out of print or unavailable. Beautiful embroidery and illustrations accompany favorite - and new - kiddie rhymes and counting songs. I wish this came with a CD as well! We've been reading it to our toddler since she was 8 months old, and she will probably be able to enjoy it for a long time.

This is a beautiful book and my son loves it, however the pages have fallen out after only a few weeks of reading. I returned the book to amazon and received another copy, and the same thing happened. So basically, great book with unfortunately very poor binding.
