Adam Clayton had discovered rock'n'roll as a thirteen year old, buying his first acoustic guitar and then talking his parents into buying him a bass guitar. 'It just sounded good to me. Deep and fat and satisfying.'

From the beginning, U2 were marked out by their passion. "A band… Read more in Amazon's U2 Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Please Live - one of the best live U2 tracks on CD, May 12, 2004

Pop was a very disappointing album for me - I found it hard to get into (and being a huge u2 fan it wasn't for want of trying). But the same songs on that album, when played live, were transformed. I saw the Popmart concert live in Melbourne, Australia and it was fantastic. Please would have to be the standout track. This is a much more coherent version than the album track, which sounds very loose and unpolished, almost like a demo, in comparison. It is now my favourite U2 live recording, along with Exit (off the Rattle and Hum DVD) and Party Girl (off Live at Red Rocks). Absolutely superb.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy this for "Where the Streets Have No Name", October 3, 2006

If you love "Where the Streets Have No Name" then you must have this CD. This is THE album for this song. It starts about one minute before "Please" ends so fast forward to that point and you've got an oh so awesome seven minute version of this emotional song. I LOVE the build up when you start it as the end of "Please" and I love the extended end. The other tracks are good as well, but if you're looking for live cuts, you're buying this for "Where the Streets Have No Name" and that's it. "With or Without You" is pretty good as well, but if you want the best verison of that one you need the one from "Rattle and Hum" the MOVIE. I wish there was a full album version of that!
