An infectiously delicious effort by Keren and Sara, made all the more special for capturing the ABBA "sound", notably on the standout tracks "Movin' On" and "Last Thing On My Mind". Huge kudos to Rhino for the Bananarama reissues, as they're all a worthwhile addition to your music collection. I love the hard-to-find bonus tracks, although it must be said that the single mix of "Last Thing On My Mind" doesn't sound any different from the album version.

Do not dismiss this album because of the first two singles that were released from it. The choice of singles from "Please Yourself", the first album recorded as a duo by Bananarama were not thrilling. There is nothing the matter with the lyrics. It is the production that is disjointed from the rest of the album. While the songs "Let Me Love You One More Time" and "You'll Never Know What I Means" are pleasant listens. I strongly recommended this album for the album tracks and bonus tracks. The sleek Hi-NRG songs such as "She Is Good To You", "Only Time Will Tell", "Give It Up For Your Love", "More More More" and "You're Never Satisfied" as well as the sweeping keyboard ballad "I Could Be Persuaded." These songs I have listened to repeatedly and loved them more and more! The bonus unreleased tracks "Another Lover" and "Treat Me Right" are so fabulous, it makes you wonder why comparivately weak songs like the first two singles were even on the final tracklisting for "Please Yourself" in the first place? Overall, I give "Please Yourself" 4.5 stars.

Bananarama +Abba Sound+String Section +Male soul singer backing vocals=Please Yourself,

One of the best Bananarama Albums with a fine selection of songs.I would describe it as Bananarama meet the sound of Abba. They then pick up a couple of male soul backing singers walk into the middle of an orchestra and get produced by Stock and Waterman.
'Is she good to you' should have been released as a single.'Let me Love you one more time' is a beautiful song with a powerful middle 8 instrumental. The extra B side tracks 'Another Lover' and 'Treat me right' are good fun. Listen and Enjoy.

This reissue should have been beefed up with a second disc of remixes,

Coming well after the girls' hey day, this album is now one that fans who had lost touch seek out to hear something 'new'. It also turns out to be the album that had a load of remixes released for its singles, all of which have now become highly collectible and hard to obtain. My original release of this CD came with a bonus disc of remixes of their PREVIOUS tracks from other albums. I only wish this CD had come with a CD full of the remixes of More More More, Last Thing On My Mind, and Movin On. Or the least they could have done was give us a FEW of those remixes, considering this disc runs 3 minutes short of an hour, leaving more than 20 minutes of unused disc space!
It is nice to have a couple of the b-sides though, and the rare Dave Ford remix of More More More is another pleaser.

Very Abba-esque....,

If you already have the Very Best of disc, then you have all the important songs from this CD. Although the material was good, it simply didnt compare to their previous recordings with the PWL team. The Abba sound is nice. It works really well on "Last thing" and "Movin on".
Its almost as if they knew the end of PWL was coming and they had to get in one last release.

For Bananarama completists only(both of you). The remake of "More, more, more" is a nifty dance tune but it's the only reason to own the album.
