OMG yes! this has to be the worst photoshop i've ever seen!! Why would the studio change the original movie art?!?! if thats the final version, well i got to say is Ef that, i'll get the eurpean version!
Agreed, for a movie that has such an easily identifiable style baked right into the celluloid (late 70s, early 80s neon-drenched beauty), for them to make such a slapdash Photoshop job is criminal. I'm hoping that the cover art is a placeholder, but I fear it's not.
I ordered the French steelbook, fully knowing that the disc won't work because it's region 2 and PAL. I guess I will put the disc in an American case and try to sell it back to Europe where someone might actually like the ugliest cover I've ever seen, haha.
Actually Blu-ray is neither PAL nor NTSC, and concerning the region code you might get lucky. A ton of movies on Blu-ray are not region coded at all, depending on the studio (for example, WB is always region free).
The Canadian cover art is even worse. The CGI car is rendered worse than something in a Playstation 2 game! I wish they used the same art that they used for the book cover and OST. Seen at the link below Drive (Movie tie-in)
