5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent collection of hard core Yaoi
First of all the summary given by Amazon is totally wrong! Come on, Amazon!
This an excellent collection of hard core Yaoi, with a feel of romance to it. As a forewarning if you cannot stomach rapes, sadism or masochism, skip this. If you are looking for perversion and creativity in sex, this is for you.

Gay men who adore the lovely boys found in yaoi manga must eventually learn to accept the discretion of the genre. Most artists render males in sexual situations but without explicit images of male genitalia. (As in life, beauty comes at a steep price.) At most, penises are reduced to outlines or suggested by the placement of hands and fingers. This manga, however,...

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent collection of hard core Yaoi, March 19, 2007

First of all the summary given by Amazon is totally wrong! Come on, Amazon!

This an excellent collection of hard core Yaoi, with a feel of romance to it. As a forewarning if you cannot stomach rapes, sadism or masochism, skip this. If you are looking for perversion and creativity in sex, this is for you.

5 stories here: a pleasure dome of sex slaves, an Indian prince teaching a British commander the pleasures of the Kama Sutra, Christians falling from grace, a Japanese man loved by father and his two sons and finally an impotent man finding love. The first 4 are real hardcore filled with BDSM,

fetishism (plenty of sex toys here) and rapes. The 5th one which is my favorite is touchingly romantic with the sex somewhat toned down (compared to the others of course).

I am pleasantly surprised with the plots which turn out to be really good, some of them a trifle dark. The artwork is gorgeous too.

Forget the Yaoi hentai series offered by Yaoi press, whose artwork is just sub-standard. Get this instead!

This manga, however, despite its decadent themes takes the censorship to a new level. On most characters, the genitals are simply omitted! I am not the target demographic, but I prefer yaoi men and boys, no matter how pretty they are, to still be identifiably male. With all due respect to the obvious talent of Minami Megumi, potential buyers should be aware of this treatment of the "offending member."

5.0 out of 5 stars Total Surprise in a Good Way. Amazing stories, April 14, 2011

Okay... I have been told many many things about this book. Some said it was repulsive and disgusting and filled with nothing but Smut and S&M. I was told it was such hedonism that I refused for two years to purchase it. But after two years to test my new address I purchased this book to add to my collection. But i have to say i was sadly let down. This book was hedonistic but in an artistic way not a disgusting smutty way. This story was filled indeed with men's passions and the crime and punishment that comes with those passions. Honestly it's one of hte best reads i've had so far and am upset i waited so long to buy it. But Warning NOT FOR NEW READERS! This story does contain heavy S&M and rape practices. But the stories within this book all leave the heart a little torn. Except the last one which is just adorable. The stories featured int his book do rival some heavy issues such as rape, hedonism, christianity and the Kuma Sutra applied to men on men sex. But I would recommend this book to friends i knew didn't mind rape or S&M. And to be honest I don't find this book to be smut. In fact that stories are breath taking and a fresh of breath air at once. They're beautiful and the art is amazing. if you have any questions feel free to comment back I can give more information on the book but i don't like when people leave spoilers on the main comments.

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 Easy Stories and 1 Confusing Piece, January 28, 2008

As far as hard-core goes, I'd say only 4 of the 5 stories in this collection qualify even slightly as torture or SM fiction. The last story, "L'Amore: I Belong to You" is not hard-core in that sense and it is very confusing to figure who is speaking because the black line drawings make the characters difficult to tell from one another. Of course, it's a rehash of the "Prince & Pauper" story but the author in such a case needs to go to effort to keep readers clearer on who is who. Of the other 4 stories here's a word of caution: if you don't like violence or sex or both between male character why are you even looking at this book?

2.0 out of 5 stars It's Okay., September 20, 2007

The stories themselves were alright, but I think they could've gone more in depth. The sex scenes were not bad but it is no Kizuna or Embracing Love. At least they showed "more" than this book did of the front genitals.

I would at least recommend this for yaoi beginners somewhere after starting with Gravitation.

3.0 out of 5 stars Shocking.., April 6, 2010
This review is from: Pleasure Dome (Paperback)
Forgive me since it's been a good year or two since I last held the book in my hands and read it but it definitely left an imprint on me. To this day when I see it or hear about it, I can't help but shiver. And erm.. a spoiler I guess you'd call it, though not much of one, is ahead.

Now I can handle rape, torture and all that in-between just fine and if done correctly, I'll enjoy it quite a bit but I still can't get over the dogs scene. The whole pack of them biting, molesting, raping of the guy.. not my cup of tea. If others are into it, go forth and enjoy it.

And I think a reviewer mentioned that beginners who might've started with Gravitation should progress to this.. I don't know. It's a big leap from fluffy Gravitation with a whiny uke to slaves and pow's getting raped and tortured even if it's in a pleasurable manner. But as I said, go forth and read whatever you want. This was just my two cents.

1.0 out of 5 stars I'd give it a zero if I could..., August 13, 2007
This review is from: Pleasure Dome (Paperback)
Terrible! Just terrible! Mediocre artwork and thinly veiled (if any) plot. The sex, if you can even call it that, was something out of the mind a depraved rapist and only held my attention because it was disgusting. The $8.79 price listing for this book is too much; it should be free. Even then, I wouldn't suggest buying it. Save yourself some money, time, and disappointment, people and go read `Thunderbolt Boys'. It's just as bad, but at least the artwork is better.
