Once again 112 return to bless us with another set of sounds for the '05. Everybody calls this album the redemption album but really its how it should have been even last time around. Once again 112 return to bless us with another set of sounds for the '05. Everybody calls this album the redemption album but really its how it should have been even last time around. If they took there time the last time around they would have had an equally good album as the last. The intro is a song from thier first cd which lets you know that they went back to the begining(the roots) to get to the base of what made them and thier sound in the first place. Im glad to see they put the sweat and time into it this time around becasue the last cd could have really been better if they had more time put into it.
Now to the songs.....whats good here?:

*Intro
*Let this go
*What if
*U already know -- nice way to start things off
*My Mistakes
*If I hit
*The way
*Why cant we get along
*God knows

Overall I think 112 will satisfy lots of fans with this one. Not only did they return to their trade mark quilty sound but they also added in some new things like more of down south flavor from their home town. People like T.I., JD and three 6 mafia help to bring that around. They named the title appropriately "Pleasure and Pain" mostly for what they went through in the past and what they take you through on this cd. Fans and non fans need apply.

Get It!!

4.0 out of 5 stars 112 has come a long way, April 19, 2005
This review is from: Pleasure & Pain (Audio CD)
Having taken chances and experimented with changing their familiar sound, 112 has made another attempt to win over their fans with Pleasure and Pain. Although it is not quite a gem like the debut, it is much improvement from 2003's Hot and Wet. Introducing the CD with a sample of one of the best tracks from their first LP, 112 prepares us for a mixture of uptempo club songs and memorable ballads. "Last to Know" and "Why Can't We Get Along?" are reminders of why R&B lovers fell in love with this group in the beginning. Mike's solo on "What the Hell Do you Want?" is just as powerful and chilling as Part III's standout "Missing You". I could personally do without the club bangers like "If I Hit" and "Closing the Club" but so much is made up with songs like "What If" and the closer, "God Knows". I am proud of 112 for allowing me to find some appreciation in Contemporary R&B just when I had given up. If you didn't care for their last effort, don't worry- this is a worthy choice.

This review is from: Pleasure & Pain (Clean) (Audio CD)
After the disappionting 'Hot & Wet' 112 has returned with 'Pleasure & Pain', which has more good songs than bad. Mostly every track is awesome. The album could have done without "We Goin' Be Alright", it's so short. Anyways I am very happy with this album. The reason I gave it 4 stars b/c they changed some of the lyrics of the chorus in "U Alredy Know"

4.0 out of 5 stars More Pleasure than Pain, April 22, 2006
This review is from: Pleasure & Pain (Audio CD)
112 more than made up for their last album "Hot & Wet", which completely choked. Even though they didn't have more TIGHT interludes (like their first three albums), this CD got heavy rotation in my house, car, job, etc. "U Already Know" is a favorite by many, including myself, but I'm disappointed that some of the other singles weren't released. "What If" got some play for a bit, then disappeared. My other favorites are:

2. Let This Go
9. My Mistakes
10. If I Hit
11. The Way
14. That's How Close We Are
15. Closing the Club

I'm praying that 112 does not stop with this album because they are very gifted and I still can't get enough of them, even when they're at their worst.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thankfully, 112's Back, March 30, 2005
This review is from: Pleasure & Pain (Audio CD)
112 went back to the original self titled debut from 1996 and titled and began this new album with "Pleasure and Pain". This was a good thing letting everyone know they were going back to their roots and to their formula - BALLADS!!!

Vocally, they seem to have really matured (even though they have always sounded great & better than any other male group out now). Especially Slim- his voice is high and thin, but it seems that he may have had a vocal coach or something...a little stronger on this album.

In comparison to the last album, this one is packaged better. The 'different' songs are in the middle instead of at the beginning and end. And, I think they'll release the right songs this times allowing them to sell more records.

I give them 5 stars, but they actually get more like 4.8 b/c of 1 or 2 songs that they could have left off...but..........

4.0 out of 5 stars R & B still lives! One of the best R & B albums in 05., January 5, 2006
This review is from: Pleasure & Pain (Audio CD)
Always been a 112 fan but they dissappointed me with the last album. They're at their best with the ballads. Best song on the album is "Nowhere". I'm disappointed that Def Jam isn't giving this album the push it needs.
