This review is from: Plenty (Audio CD)
Forest Sun is a songwriter whose voice has a wistful quality on the set opener "Alchemy," "Just one dance with me, thus begins the alchemy, Love will lay down like a lion at our feet." His tunes are mostly midtempo acoustic-accented tracks like the shuffle "Dancing Again." "Red Umbrella" is a great track with Alex Bodman's sax giving it a loose quality like a cousin to Steely Dan, "So I won't complain when those dark clouds roll on in cause we could lay all day making love in my single bed." "My Queen" goes Dixieland with a delightful arrangement. "What the Poets Know" & "Jar of Pennies" are also good tracks. Enjoy!
