Excellent for classroom math teachers and bored students!,
By A Customer

This book has been a God-send for those students who finish their work early and they say they have nothing to do. I keep a bulletin board up all the time and change out the puzzles weekly. Of course, plexers are right there in the middle of the "game" bulletin board!! This is a must buy.

This book is filled with plexer puzzles that will keep anyone thinking. They are fun to try and figure out. A great book for thinking skills.

We use this book for elementary aged, developmentally delayed students, and they love it. The puzzles are not too hard, but not easy. Regular ed kids love them too, they just progress faster. Answers are in the back of the book. Some of the sayings are kind of old fashioned that kids may have never heard, like 'don't cry over spilled milk', but once they learn the basics of how the puzzles work (i.e. words written from bottom to top means read the word and add 'up' after it) they can get the answer without having heard the saying before. We will be using it frequently to fill those 15 minutes of warm up time in the morning, or time at the end of the day when they finish other work early.

Plexers are a big hit with high schoolers!,
This review is from: Plexers (Paperback)
I learned about this book from another math teacher, who offered them as activities after tests. These puzzles have been BIG hit with whatever group I show them to, from middle schoolers through adult. Yesterday, after a chemistry final exam, four brawny high school boys were completely engrossed by the four pages I offered and wanted more! I gave them to another science teacher who wanted more because her kids loved them, too. Yes, I agree that some of the sayings are 'old-fashioned' but they don't mind in the slightest (and it painlessly expands their vocabulary).
