It seems that one cannot buy any item whatsoever that was made in America. These Xcelite tweezers were made in Pakistan. I use tweezers to sort through water-screened archaeological soil samples, and the set that I was working with had been made in Germany. I had been using this set for about twenty years, and finally the points of the tweezers reflected the angle at which I had been holding them, meaning that one point was shorter than the other, and it became more difficult to pick up tiny articles, such as fish-scales. I tried to file the points down to the same length, but the steel was so hard that it was almost impossible. That's when I ordered my present set of tweezers. After I had sorted with one of the Xcelite tweezers for about one month, one of the points had become dull. In other words, the steel that these things were made of was more like butter. They are now resting in a drawer, and I have gone back to using my old ones, which are infinitely better.

I had this model of Xcelite tweezer for about 8 years and it was great. I lost it in a disaster and just replaced it with this one. this one is VERY different and much lower quality. the finish is poorer. the body shape is much different where the old one had smoother transitions along the body making it more comfortable to hold. The tips are very different. the old tips were smooth and slightly rounded. this one has angle ground tips making them have sharp edges. The old one had slightly rounded surfaces inside the tips where they contact. These have a flat ground insides of the tips. this characteristic difference may not be a problem for my use however. The new one is made in Pakistan but I dont know where the older ones were made. Overall I'm unhappy with this item. However, I cannot get the old style so I will likely just have to live with the poorer quality and undesirable differences.
