5.0 out of 5 stars Works like a charm
I bought this adapter to connect a third monitor (1280x1080) to my iMac with 2.66GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor and OS X 10.6.4. I downloaded the OS X driver from the manufacturer website, installed it, restarted and connected the monitor. Works just great and delivers a great picture. 3.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't always work
I have this hooked up for a double-monitor and when the computer goes to sleep, the second monitor doesn't always come back on when I move the mouse or press a key to wake it back up. I end up having to unplug the USB from the back of the computer and plug it back in for the screen to come on. It's great when it works, but it doesn't work all the time and that's...

5.0 out of 5 stars Works like a charm, August 1, 2010

This review is from: Plugable UGA-125 USB 2.0 to VGA/DVI/HDMI Adapter for Multiple Monitors up to 1280x1024 / 1440x900 Each (DisplayLink DL-125 Chipset) (Electronics)
On more reason to like this adapter is that it comes super complete with adapters for VGA and HDMI and a USB cable. Given the fact that Apple takes 30 Dollars just for a Mini Displayport to DVI adapter (which, of course, you can also buy here at Amazon for $10) I find the $50 that I paid for this USB adapter a reasonable solution to connect another monitor to an iMac.

5.0 out of 5 stars wow...it works great, October 22, 2010
This review is from: Plugable UGA-125 USB 2.0 to VGA/DVI/HDMI Adapter for Multiple Monitors up to 1280x1024 / 1440x900 Each (DisplayLink DL-125 Chipset) (Electronics)
Bought it online at Amazon for under $50. Plugged it in and Windoze recognized it immediately. I added it through the standard display GUI and was up and running in less than 5 minutes and have had zero problems with it. I don't run games or anything with high speed graphics - mostly spreadsheets and static data. For my purposes, it works absolutely great and doesn't slow down my laptop at all. I have 3 monitors total - 1 laptop - 1 external to laptop and 1 via DisplayLink.

I bought it as to connect my third LCD monitor to my laptop for the flight simulator. I am using DVI but have used VGA as well. The nvidia card pumps enough horses to display good quality graphics. Tested with movies and there is no pixel refresh lags.
Overall the best product there is. Will buy more for my work.

This adapter is a great accessory for my netbook. Because of its small screen, the netbook's onboard graphics adapter is limited to 800x600 resolution, even when I plug my 17" monitor into the VGA port. With the Plugable USB adapter, I am now able to hook up to the larger monitor and display much more content on its screen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great item and seller - Plugable UGA-125 USB 2.0 to VGA/DVI/HDMI Adapter, September 9, 2010

I purchased the Plugable UGA-125 USB 2.0 to VGA/DVI/HDMI Adapter as my laptop monitor no longer worked. I already had an external monitor plugged into it, but I wanted another monitor. This was a great (cheap) solution. I highly recommend the item and the seller.

3.0 out of 5 stars Apple Cinema Display? Look at the UGA-165, July 14, 2011

This review is from: Plugable UGA-125 USB 2.0 to VGA/DVI/HDMI Adapter for Multiple Monitors up to 1280x1024 / 1440x900 Each (DisplayLink DL-125 Chipset) (Electronics)
The Pros:
The product definitely works!
Support is prompt in their replies and very helpful.
Relatively easy to install!
Comes with VGA and HDMI adapter

The Cons:
Look at the UGA-165 or higher to run any Apple Cinema Displays
You will have to download the drivers if you don't have a CD/DVD drive that won't play the mini-cd provided.
Email only support

I have to say my interaction with support changed my mind for the better. They changed my frustration from having a card that wasn't compatible with my Apple display to pleasant surprise. They worked with me to resolve the confusion and made sure the issue was resolved.

I also helped a co-worker installed the UGA-125 on his set up, and it worked like a charm! Now we both get to enjoy dual monitors and I really can't stress enough how good support made the experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use, and the perfect product, February 22, 2011

This review is from: Plugable UGA-125 USB 2.0 to VGA/DVI/HDMI Adapter for Multiple Monitors up to 1280x1024 / 1440x900 Each (DisplayLink DL-125 Chipset) (Electronics)
I purchased this for use with my second monitor. Since it was for a work computer, I was unable to purchase a new video card, so I had to look for other options. I purchsed the adapter, plugged it into one of the USB ports in the back of my computer, ran the CD, and my sencond monitor was up and running in less than 10 minutes. I have used this for about 3 months now, and I have no complaints at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product and terrific tech support, September 30, 2010
This review is from: Plugable UGA-125 USB 2.0 to VGA/DVI/HDMI Adapter for Multiple Monitors up to 1280x1024 / 1440x900 Each (DisplayLink DL-125 Chipset) (Electronics)
Recently replaced CPU and realized we also had an extra monitor in the house. With new horsepower, running two screens seemed appealing. Found this product with favorable reviews and ordered it. Usual rapid Amazon delivery. Set up the adapter without difficulty but had problems migrating from screen to screen. Sent SOS to tech support and had immediate, patient, and involved help from people who were clearly committed to getting the thing to work. Problem turned out to be simple, reflecting much more my user ignorance than product, which is now performing exactly as expected. So don't throw away your old monitor. Get one of these devices and enjoy the expanded screen space.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solved my problem!, April 21, 2011

This was my third and last attempt at getting my laptop to output to two monitors with only one video card. If this product hadn't worked, I'd have bought a desktop. The product was simple to install and came with a multitude of connection options. I used VGA as it allowed me to adjust the monitor's screen more than the DVI cables did (a function of the monitor, I'm sure).

The most difficult thing about this product came after the installation when you need to use your operating system, Windows 7 in my case, to label each monitor with the proper number and get the laptop screen to be blank. Once this is done it's smooth sailing. I've heard from some that these crap out after a short time. I've only had mine since around April 10th so I can't say if this is true or not.

Only other comment is that the screens seem to reset themselves if you restart the computer, making you configure them again. However, putting the laptop to sleep does not do this so it works for me. Just make sure you have sufficient USB ports on your laptop.

So far, so good. Did the job.
