I was disappointed in the Kindle version of this book. Although the author seemed to touch upon some very spiritual and insightful points regarding relationships and the hearts of women, there were sentences that seemed void of literary flow. Ever feel like you?re more of a spectator in the ?dating game? than an actual player? Ever feel like no matter what you do, those few good men that everyone else seems to catch keep slipping through your fingers? Well check this out, all is not lost. The key to finding your ?happily ever after? may be all in how you prepare yourself.

The Plural Thing, the first non-fiction work by bestselling author Linda Dominique Grosvenor, covers aspects of how to prepare yourself spiritually for you soul mate such as realizing and accepting the ?good in your single hood?, the revelation of ?you are what you attract?, and learning to love a GOOD man. Written in the straight forward and compassionate manner of a close friend, Mrs. Grosvenor help put into prospective the positive facets of preparing yourself for the love of your life.

If there are any books on the market true to the "self-help" format this book is it. The Plural Thing helps the reader realize certain aspects of their personal nature that may be causing "Mr. Right" to walk on by. It helps readers see themselves in the light of truth, on every layer of relationships, to help identify their strong and weak points.

With a strong emphasis on first working on SELF, and making sure that SELF is whole and complete, The Plural Thing not only aids in fostering healthy, strong relationships... it helps to build strong and confident women.

Not only is this a helpful book for single women, it is a great tool for those of us who are married and desire re-discovering the good in our soul mates that time may have covered up.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Spiritual Tool for Single Women, December 15, 2003

This review is from: The Plural Thing: Spiritually Preparing for Your Soul Mate (Hardcover)
Instruction manuals. We all have them for various devices tucked away in many places. Although we don't often read them, we know that they are written for our benefit. When it comes to instruction manuals, "The Plural Thing: Spiritually Preparing For Your Soul Mate" written by Author, Linda Dominique Grosvenor is one instruction manual for single women written from a biblical perspective that should not be tucked away.

In this book, Ms. Grosvenor does a superb job of getting down to the nuts and bolts on instructing single women how to lead victorious and fulfilling lives during their seasons of singleness by using biblical principles, keen insight, self-disclosure and candidness.

This is a thought-provoking and enlightening book, which I believe all single women would gain from having this valuable resource in their personal libraries to resort back to when finding their lives out of balance and perhaps heading in the wrong direction and off the path that God has intended. As the author says, "We need to be women of balance. We should strive to be complete and whole in God. We have to be able to run our own lives. We can't hang our hopes on finding a man. Our life starts at birth not at the altar. We have to live and learn as we live. Life is to prepare for his service."

This book was the driving force that I needed to take an introspection of my own life as a single woman and if I'm real about it, I'll have to admit that I uncovered some wrong thinking on my part. I appreciate the author being obedient to God in writing a book to uplift and encourage single women on this journey called life. As I see it, "The Plural Thing" is right on the money and it gripped my soul.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Blessing for singles, December 4, 2003
This review is from: The Plural Thing: Spiritually Preparing for Your Soul Mate (Hardcover)
This is one book I truly recommend to single and married women. The concept is not unique, but the style of writing and the personal truths of the author's life make this book stand out above others. I admit at the time I read this, I was ready to get married. Let me say it again, I WAS READY to get married. This book was just the beginning of many revelations thatlead me to understand what it means to be single in the Lord! It's a beautiful thing. You may realize that for yourself as you turn the pages and learn more about who you are as a daughter of the King. There are so many things the Lord wants to do for you while you are single, while your committment is towards HIM. I recommend this book for the married woman also. There's some pivotal lessons for the woman that has entered into a union that sits stagnant and not moving. It's an awesome read written in a style that is true to the lyrical prose we've come to associate with Ms. Grosvenor-Riddick. If you like her fiction, I guarantee you'll love her non-fiction. My sisters, read this book and make sure you're "spiritually prepared for your soulmate." Once again, this author has done an outstanding job.

I love the fact that Dominique is so transparent with her new note in this kindle version.
It's important for people to understand that God's Word will work even in your relationships when you are obedient.
She is very straight forward about that.
I'm so honored to know her and excited that she and her husband Calvin will interview with us in February, exactly a week after Valentine's day.
We are hoping that you and other fans of Dominique will join us for this special telesummit series where we'll be discussing the intersection of business and relationships, especially in regards to how online networking can affect them.

Sincerely,
Donna Marie Johnson, President and Co Founder of WAHMs WIN

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Insightful, February 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Before I had even been married one year,I discovered that my estranged husband was cheating with his ex-girlfriend.For years I fasted and prayed that God would save my marriage. We went to a total of 5 counselors including our pastor, but my husband's behavior didn't change. In fact it got worse. We separated twice. After a reconciliation in the summer of 2010, I immediately found traces of the ex-girlfriend in the marriage AGAIN. This time I discovered that my husband's brother was assisting him in his infidelity quest. I began to pray that God would show me the status of my marriage, instead of asking him to save the marriage. Where do I go from here Lord? What am I doing wrong? That was my new prayer.I found the answers in this book. This book gives spiritual and practical principles of the who, what, when, where, how, and why we as women go wrong. I can see clearly now. I know what I have to do and I'm grateful to the Lord for clear direction.Thank you Linda for allowing the Holy Spirit to utilize you to help those like myself:-)

4.0 out of 5 stars Pleased, January 21, 2011
I was pleased with The Plural Thing and really appreciated Linda's transparency in the book. It was pleasing to read someone's wisdom and then know they walked it out and the end result was a blessed marriage union. It's a good read.

2.0 out of 5 stars I purchased the Kindle edition, October 4, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was disappointed in the Kindle version of this book. Although the author seemed to touch upon some very spiritual and insightful points regarding relationships and the hearts of women, there were sentences that seemed void of literary flow. At times, it was almost as if there were missing words or thoughts. Then, in Chapter 5 it became obvious that there were complete missing sentences and/or words. There were spots where the sentence stopped short and a section title seemed to appear in all capitals - completely out of context or flow of thought. It became too difficult to read.
I am not sure if there was a problem when changing the book to kindle format, but there indeed is a problem with this version. I had to stop reading it.
