Single men, you would be remiss in thinking that this book won't apply to you. Although it's written by a woman, the very real and universal truth of this book that applies to single men and women alike is DELIVERANCE! Linda writes prolifically about her struggles within herself and how God brought her through a healing process in order to receive the man of God for her. I highly recommend this book. Her honesty about the "not so lovely things" that we singles endure and have to face makes this book real! You have to read it ~ let the spiritual preparation begin!

Although I could relate to the entire book, I especially enjoyed The EX Factor chapter. I was reading The Plural Thing..., just as I was doing my own soul searching and looking for a way to respond to some questions from my ex. The Plural Thing provided the boost I needed to respond positively, instead of continuing to harbor ill will and resentment for what was. Grosvenor's book is a spiritual blueprint on living a more fulfilling life with or without a mate. She encourages readers to take a mirror view of themselves. I read the book to help jumpstart my personal growth. It's helped me see myself in a more positive light. Working on self does not mean one has to become selfish, it actually makes one more open to loving others. The areas I need growth in are no longer strongholds. They are now mini-goals and no longer seem like a struggle.

The book also encourages readers to figure out what they want before dating even begins. Is what we want in line with what God wants for us? The more I read, the more I had to reflect. We can prepare for our soul mate by loving ourselves and not overlooking someone because of pre-conceived notions.

I feel that readers will have a better understanding of themselves and what they want in a mate, by reading and following the principles in The Plural Thing. It's more than just a book, but an empowering tool to jumpstart you in the right direction.

The book doesn't guarantee that you'll find your soul mate, but it does guarantee a better you and in the end, that's worth more than gold.

I enjoyed reading how to be true and good to yourself rather than how to change who you are to please a man. When you are true to yourself and love yourself, then true love could be lurking around the corner.

I was the woman who "loved them and leaved them." I was never patient enough to wait for love or take the time to prepare myself for him when he finally did arrive. After my last breakup I was sick of doing things my own way. I was tired of investing so much time and energy in dead-end relationships. I was tired of leaving men brokenhearted because I had outgrown them or determined they were not what I needed. I realized that what I was doing was not going to bring the change I needed in my life. So I prayed. I asked God to help me approach relationships His way rather than rushing ahead of His plan as I always did.

I read it and absorbed all the information inside because I not only needed that information, I sincerely wanted a change to occur in my life.

The Plural Thing is an easy read in regards to number of pages and font. However, it's challenging for the soul. So many times one would think...if i just meet my mate, life will be better and reading the title of this book may lead you to believe that it's about two people preparing for each other. Don't get me wrong, it is an excellent prepartory study pre-marriage and mid and for some post-marriage. Really, it's about you becoming one with the three who makes it all possible and that is our Triune God. What I received from The Plural Thing is, it's not about me becoming one with a mate, rather it's about me becoming one with God. If I'm not in tune with God, how will I be able to make a harmonious decision concerning marriage. The Plural Thing also exposes the many things that can cause us to miss out on what God wants to do because of the baggage we carry from previous relationships. This book calls you out of hiding to face You, the true YOU, the nasty YOU, the prideful YOU in order for you to transform into the awesome YOU that God created you to be before you was born. The Plural Thing is a definite must read if you are in, planning to enter, or are outside a relationship! Linda Dominique Grosvenor speaks candidly about her experiences and undergirds her advice with sound biblical principles. She points her readers to accept that God is the source of Love and to survive relationships, we must place Him at the center.

Ms Grosvenor's writing style is humorous which also makes the reading easy. She has a way to persuasively draw you into her story, keep you there, and feed you with helpful information!!

I was really intrigued by The Plural Thing: Spiritually Preparing For Your Soul-Mate. The body of Christ has never really sat down and distinguished between spiritual and physical boundaries and therefore, relationships become either super spiritual or fleshly without any spiritual definition. The Plural Thing gives a hard hitting message for Christians that are trying relationships on like they are trying on clothes to see how well they fit before wearing them. God wants us to have a fulfilling relationship with him first and then when we become satisfied with him as he teaches us who we are, we can then open up our heart to receive the person that God has ordained for our lives. It may not come in the package that you were expecting, being it age, size, race, etc...but when it comes, your heart must be open to receive it or else you can miss out on God's best. Are we really with God's best for our lives? By reading the Plural Thing it will cause you to evaluate relationships long and hard!

This book had me searching my soul. I almost cried after reading the "Dear John" chapter, as it was very relevant to my current situation. I highly recommend it as it is transparent and was birthed from Linda's life experiences.

If you want to learn how to love well in a marital relationship from God's perspective (no matter what your past may be), this is DEFINITELY the book for you.
