I got this for my 2 yr old's Easter basket and it was a big hit. It is cute and perfect size for a little child to cuddle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just the right size, December 23, 2009

This review is from: Plush Lil' Cluck Chicken Mini Flopsie 8" (Toy)
I run an after-school day care, and pride myself on providing realistic play activities for the children. It took me a long time to find the perfect little chicken, and this one fits the bill. I also bought the Plush Percy Pig, which is also just the right size.

Once a month we have our cooking school, which is their favorite activity. The children get SO excited! And now, with the Lil' Cluck Chicken and Percy Pig they can prepare dinners just like Mom and Dad.

The boys get to slaughter the animals (under careful supervision of course). I find that that a camper's hand axe is best as it is small enough for little hands but sharp enough to cut through the stuffing. Once they have proudly killed their chickens and pigs, the girls are just delighted to cram them in their Easy Bake Ovens and cook delicious chicken or ham dinners.

It is so educational for children to learn where their nuggets and bacon actually come from. Most of them appreciate this lesson, although I have to admit that Brandi Witherspoon, who had been dragging around her Lil' Cluck (which she named Pampers) for weeks, grew quite upset when Jack whacked her head off. Then she threw a fit when Maribelle stuffed the pieces in the oven AND she refused to eat the dinner. Her parents tell me she is now a vegetarian, but I guess that's OK. They'll sure save on their grocery bill, so they should thank me instead of sending me all those legal letters.

The chicken is really only good for one whack, but with the pig I let each boy whack a leg, and the one who wins a star for clean hands gets to take off the head. This has worked well for me.
