When I recieved the horse, I did have the same problem with the missing parts and hardware spilled in the box. However, that same day I contacted Back to Basics, and they were very curtious and fast in solving the problem. They sent out another right away. This horse is a good spring horse. It's very large and perfect for my two year old and my five year old. It can hold up to 100lbs. It does take up a lot of space, so if you don't have that much room, I would suggest a smaller spring horse. I have very tall children though, so I wanted the biggest horse I could find. The horse is very soft, which I like better than the hard plastic. I don't have to worry about my daughter hurting herself if she accidentally falls or slams her face into it. The instructions are short and basic, but not at all hard to understand. If you are looking for a large, good quality spring horse, without wanting to spend a ton of money, this horse is for you. Also, I made sure to go to Back to Basics website and read reviews on their website before purchasing.

This horse was backordered for several weeks which I didn't mind. When it finally arrived the other day, the box had several large holes and when I cut it open, all of the screws and nuts and little parts were all over the bottom of the box (with a ripped baggie inside the box and a few little parts in it. All of the metal pieces were just loose in the box, and the horse itself was only half covered with a plastic wrap. To top it off, there were no instructions in the box. And when I took the packing slip off the box, it had another customer's information on it!!
I called Back to Basics about this shipment. They said they had had some concerns about this horse for which they had had some new parts made, and that is why the parts were in the box loosely. I don't buy this as an excuse for not securing the metal pieces (which had ripped through the box during transit). The company was very nice and offered to send a new one, but I have lost faith in this company. I wonder if this was a returned horse, but how come no one at the company checked the insides to see if everything was in good order? |
