Scanner arrived in only 3 working days with the Amazon free shipping. The scanner is very small and very easy to use while working in the field. Being powered by USB cable is a real convenience! Scans are very good and the software is easy to use. Scanner is somewhat slow but no slower than any other scanner I have used that is this same size. It was easy to install and I have had only one paper jam so far - totally my fault! I did not put paper in correctly (paper must be put against the right side of slot and in straight). Jam was easy to remove without any problems. I would definitely buy again.

I ordered this scanner thinking that it can scan documents into pdf format to be opened with Adobe Acrobat Reader; however, it needs it's own software to scan and open the documents. I am not satisfied with this product for the price spent on it. If you dont mind having to use the specific software to use the scanner - then this will fit your needs. I recently found out that you will have to download Digimax PDF software from the manufacturer's website if you want instand pdf files. The software will be for the M12 Plus model, but it works.

downloading it to Windows 7 was difficult for me, but I look forward to using the scanner for DoD applications and it is compact enough for me to take with me anywhere I take my laptop.

I love this portable scanner. It must be plugged in to use, so it's only semi-portable. It's performance is great. Set at lower resolutions it is very quick. It takes great scans in color and black and white. I carry it around with my laptop and it's pretty rugged. My only gripe is that it doesn't like to accept paper if the top edge has been bent and straightened. You have to really really work at it to go through. Overall a great scanner for people on the run.

This is an excellent scanner. It replaced an HP picture scanner that would not work with Vista (HP was NOT going to release Vista drivers and suggested I purchase a new scanner from them to replace my less-than-two-years old HP scanner which I declined to do). I wanted a scanner that would travel well and scan both images and text documents. It easily fits in my laptop case and is lightweight. It integrates well with Photoshop so I don't use the supplied software much. I highly recommend this scanner.

I was really excited about the size and quality of scans I got until the second time I used it when a mysterious black line showed up. I reinstalled the drivers, recalibrated, and cleaned several times with the same results. I am running Windows Vista Business.

I tried calling PlusTek for assistance. Needless to say, it took 3 weeks, numerous emails and phone calls for them to respond and the only solution they have is to send it back. No immediate replacement. So now, my ability to scan and finalize jobs is down for three weeks plus the time for the repairs and shipping.

Think I'll try another brand and sell the 'refurbished' one on ebay.

I have had many scanners over the years, and for a portable, this Plustek is a great surprise!

This item arrived with a hardware defect. Because I was under severe time constraints, I immediatetly ordered a "Neat Receipts" version of the same and had no further issues. The driver and software on disk are combined and appear only compatible with Windows operating systems. Plustek, appears to offer drivers separate ( [...] ) on their website.
