Editorial Reviews

The Troma Team is proud to present the blood curdling horror epic Plutonium Baby from master of terror Ray Hirschman. In the tradition of Toxic Avenger comes a film more fightingly morbid and macabre than anything before or since its release. The maniacal Dr. Drake and his depraved team of scientists have been performing grotesque and illegal experiments involving plutonium's effect on pregnant women. The day Danny was born, Dr. Drake and his minions go too far in their experiments and kill Danny's mother. Miraculously Danny is saved while the callous doctors bury Emily's broken body in a toxic waste container far below the Earth's surface. Twelve years have passed and suddenly Danny's nightmare is relived when Drake resurfaces to finish the job, to stalk and kill Danny, the only remaining evidence of his crimes.

A. Watch this movie all the way through twice daily. You'll be dead certain by the end of the second viewing that the hands of your biological clock have locked up solid and that you're enjoying the kind of dreamy, floating near-immortality previously reserved for tubeworms in the floor of the Marianas Trench.
Seriously - never before in a lifetime of watching bad film have I honestly been fooled into believing that an 85-minute movie had somehow been running something in excess of three hours. Time comes to a stop. There are figures on the screen doing incomprehensible things that you don't care about, and they continue doing them forever and ever. It has something to do with a radioactive rabbit puppet and evil people who remain sealed in radioactive waste drums for ten years, perfectly preserved except for huge dripping lesions on their faces, and some IROC who eats live fish. Eventually, everyone moves to New York.
Years ago I lived in a trailer court, and the moron in the next double-wide would regularly take his turn as the rehearsal hall for a mullet band for which he played bass. One Sunday evening I listened to them rehearse "Green-Eyed Lady" for four solid hours. I THOUGHT that would always reign as the longest night of my life. I was wrong.
