I do not usually write product reviews, good or bad, even if Amazon is the place we primarly buy ... well everything.
However I feel the need to write here to say how much buying this product has been the best decision we made. This morning my son stopped breathing in his sleep while both of us were asleep. The snuza alarm went off and woke us up instantly - we were both a the crib instantly. The baby was not breathing, he probably went into deep sleep - we managed to quickly wake him up and all is fine... but I am so grateful for the Snuza. It's priceless to us. I don't even want to think about what could have happend if we did not have it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Snuza for watching our son.

I didn't know this when I bought it, and didn't see it written anywhere either, but we have been using this snuza for 6 months, every night, and it is still using the battery it came with... I bought a 12 pack of batteries, not knowing this... Take this knowledge and don't buy a dozen batteries for it.

My son has worn this every night since he was about two months (he is now 5 months old). Anyways, I forgot to put it on him tonight and in an afterthought I unbuttoned his pajamas and clipped it to his diaper. After I fell asleep, I heard it vibrate which is the warning sign to "wake the baby up" before the alarm goes off. I thought it was a fluke (although it has never happened before) and I took it off and repositioned it so it was snug. Fast forward to 4:30 am -- I am in a dead sleep when I hear an alarm. I first think it's my alarm clock but I quickly realize what it actually was. I yelled out my sons name twice right in front if him, no response. I then begin to shake him at his belly twice in a fast paced motion... No response and I couldn't detect any breathing, then FINALLY (it was probably a total of 10 seconds after the alarm -but it felt like an eternity to me) a BREATH (it was almost a gasp) -- the most lovely breath I have ever felt and heard since the time he was born. I then fell apart just bawling and shaking and thanking God for letting me keep my son. A son that has changed my life in every amazing way possible. I'm not sure if he would've started breathing again on his own or not, but I am thankful for the Snuza tonight as well just so I know it happened and I can go get a thorough examination performed on him tomorrow. What a way to wake up, I feel exhausted, yet I know I won't sleep. :(. But yes, sorry I got into a rant, but moral of this story: I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend this product!!

Our kids are a little older now, but we look back on our many purchases when they were small babies and acknowledge that this was the best one. It greatly reduced our anxiety levels about SIDS and helped us sleep better. It was easy to use and neither child minded having it on. We recommend this to all new parents.

I'm a physician and I asked several of my pediatrician friends what they thought about movement monitors and pretty much got a neutral response from everyone.

My husband and I were looking for a video/audio monitor and came across Angelcare and purchased that for her crib.

However, when she got sick with a cold and we needed to have her sleeping upright, we had a dilemma since the movement monitor wasn't portable. My husband actually came across Snuza because it was portable and we decided to go ahead and purchase it despite my daughter not having any of the risk factors for SIDs.

Thank goodness we did. Since purchasing it, it has gone off twice, and neither occasion was it a false alarm. It was actually the night before she got sick both times. I believe she had so much drainage that she wasn't able to clear and she had a respiratory pause. After the first time (which occurred because the Snuza was still on despite her being in her crib because we didn't want to undo the swaddle) we use the Snuza at night as well.

Both times the Snuza went off before the Angelcare. We never had a false alarm with the Angelcare. The Snuza does have false alarms if it comes off the diaper, but this has only happened like 2-4 times and it is during the day when she is active.

Since both alarms, I send the Snuza with her to daycare. No one knows what causes SIDs, but both times, the Snuza went off when she was alseep and was when she got sick overnight and congested. Pretty much she went to sleep fine and woke up sick so there was no way as a parent I would have known to be on alert. However, after both times I suctioned her out and had her sleep sitting up without any more alarms.

I had the Angelcare, but Snuza gives me peace of mind, especially since the two events and her being in daycare. With 20% of SIDs occurring when a baby is being watched by a provider, it gives me peace of mind when I send it with her to daycare each day. I would recommend this to anyone. I'm not a pediatrician, but in my limited experience with my daughter, I would highly recommend a Snuza to any parent.

We received this monitor as a gift on the recommendation of a family member who loves it. However, we stopped using it shortly after receiving it due to the very high number of false alarms. It went off nearly 50% of the times we used it on our son, often when he was clearly awake, breathing, and moving around. We tried clipping it in different positions on his overnight disposable diaper, but never found a place where it didn't come just loose enough to terrify us. I'm glad this product has brought so much peace of mind to so many families, but for us, it was a source of constant anxiety.

I love the concept of the snuza but have had a few false alarms as when I put this on my son at night it fits snug but after he urinates once his diaper kinda pulls away within the 3 or so hour blocks I was getting this would be
Going off and he would be breathing, it just wasn't touching him. Maybe perfect for anothet family.

Fantastic little device. Well worth the money!
Has only gone off when placed on diaper incorrectly by my husband (cough, cough). Battery has been good since July. Be sure to read the Manual about how to fold diaper over for product placement...it doesn't work well with Target diapers due to this reason, just an FYI.

Love it, peace of mind. It did go off 2 times my grand baby is 6 weeks old, the vibration startled her to breath. Every parent should have one to help eliminate SIDS. I am a Nurse and I 100% endorse this product

I cannot imagine not having this. My son had RSV at 2 months (they were worried it was whooping cough at first) and after a few scary nights of staying awake to watch his breathing, we bought this. Now, he is healthy, but I remain terrified of SIDS. The Snuza is literally the only reason I am able to sleep at night. I trust that little green blinking light (and the absence of alarm sounds), and know that my baby is okay. One night we couldn't find the Snuza and I panicked thinking of how I would end up being awake all night because I have become so dependent on it monitoring him for me. We had a few alarms in the beginning (all in the span of a week or two) and I still don't know whether they were false, or whether the vibration and alarm sounds roused him and saved him. Honestly, I don't care - he is alive and well. Any future child I have will absolutely wear one of these from birth to 1 year. I was hesitant at first because of the cost but now (my son is almost 5 months), I would have paid just about anything for it.
