Poakalani: Hawaiian Quilts Vol 1,
By Maggiesmom (TX USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Poakalani: Hawaiian Quilts Volume I (Paperback)
This book is a good book for the beginner hawaiian quilter. The patterns are full sized and very simplistic. There is a nice variety of them with the addition of quilting suggestions once the applique portion is completed. My only negative comment would be the lack of color photos in the beginning of the book. The first 10 pages include detailed instructions on how to create your own hawaiian quilt block, complete with black and white photos to illustrate each step. These photos, because of the lack of color, are difficult to see clearly what is being explained. If this book were printed using color, it would be an excellent tool for the beginner. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a place to start hawaiian quilting.

By far the best Hawaiian Quilting patterns/guide you'll ever want to use. They are the most authentic, acurate and absolutely beautiful patterns you'll ever see and use.
