This review is from: Pocahontas: True Princess (Paperback)
My 6 year old son and I liked this so much that we ended up reading the whole thing in one day. It showed how she lived, what her people believed, the conflicts, and even how she became a Christian.
We have been studying early American history in his textbook and have also enjoyed watching Pocahontas from the Nest Family movies. This fit in well. We'll be keeping this book around for his siblings to read later.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pocahontas; True Princess, August 20, 2011

This review is from: Pocahontas: True Princess (Paperback)
Pocahontas: True Princess is an excellant book. In fact though it is a fiction book, the author went into a lot of research to come up with very interresting facts about Pocahontas's life.
I expecially appreciated how the author shows God's guidence in her life even when she was yet an unbeliever in Jesus Christ.
Indeed the author of this book knew well how a child would think and weaves her ideas into Pocahonta's life very well. Thus young and old readers alike can throughly enjoy this book. In fact, I have been reading this book to my sister in a nursing home and we have been enjoying the book immensely together.
Personaly I believe every Christian home with growing children should have this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great history, entertaining story, October 28, 2011
This review is from: Pocahontas: True Princess (Paperback)
A historical retelling of the tale of one of America's first princesses and heroines, "Pocahontas: True Princess" brings this young girl and her surroundings to life. Pocahontas is child living in her father's tribe, delighted to be his Favorite Daughter. Things change when white men land on the shores of the Chesapeake, and Pocahontas risks her life to save a white man. Spanning six years of Pocahontas's life, this book is in depth, yet easy to read.

Very entertainingly written and based on historic events, I highly recommend this book for all ages. It is somewhat fictionalized, embellishing a bit to show how an Algonquin princess might have lived and acted in the early 1600s, but stays mostly within what we know from the English journals and letters about Pocahontas.
