This is a great book, and I am still kicking myself for having bought a different book first.
Some pros: - This book contains ALL the points, not just the "important" ones - The categories, functions, and indications for each point are listed - The pictures are full-color drawings and include all the underlying structures (muscles, bones, etc), not just surface anatomy -- and they are high quality DRAWINGS and not photographs (having a photo of a naked woman for illustration purposes [found in a similar-looking acupuncture atlas] may be helpful, but not so when you have to take the train or bus to school and have to constantly cover up your pages) - The paper is high-quality glossy paper that will stand up to years of flipping through the pages - There is a FANTASTIC general information section in the beginning of the book, with some of the best 3D pulse illustrations I've ever seen I hope this was helpful!!

Excellent Book !,

Pocket Atlas of Acupuncture is a book that has color pictures, you can see the arteries and veins that are close to the acu-point.
All jing well points are color with green. There is a slight difference how deep you have to insert the needle in some points. If you check Cam and Deadmen books and compare you will know what I`m talking about. I think is worth to invest in this book . I like the size of the book because I can put it in my lab cot and if I forgot where is the point I will open my cute pocket book, go to the page and I will be save. :)

My first application of this book revealed several mistakes in the Stomach Meridian images. Several classmates also told me they found similar mistakes in other chapters. While this is a great book, it makes me double check and not rely on the information.

This is something that you want to have on hand during the course of your studies. It is especially useful in the inclusion of trigger points. My copy is starting fall apart, just because it has been used so much! I always keep it on a shelf nearby for ready reference.

This is a book you will use. If combined with Hecker, et al Color Atlas of Acupuncture: Body Points - Ear Points - Trigger Points (Complementary Medicine (Thieme)) (without the trigger point stuff) it would make a much better book. Also, they could have color coded the sections and meridians along the edge for easier identification as in the Color Atlas, but that's a minor complaint. I especially like the size and weight of this book.

This is the one to get - even if it's not on your "required" list. It is pocket-sized but packed full of useful, portable information. I use it for quick point reference, particularly in grand rounds. It is condensed, but complete. Has concise information on tongue and pulse diagnosis, basic Chinese medicine and all the points and meridians. My friend has the other one - lots of full-frontal nudity with real human models in her book, and it cracks us both up! Who needs that in school. This book is nicely made and looks like it will last. Very, very handy.
