Great Comprehensive Reference... A Must Have,
By GPB (New Haven, CT USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pocket Anesthesia (Pocket Notebook Series) (Ring-bound)
I kept on seeing students, residents, CRNAs and even attendings in the department using this book to prepare for cases and for the boards. So I ordered a copy for myself and am extremely pleased. While the book looks small it is complete and comprehensive, including both basic and advanced topics. The six-ring binder fits nicely in the pocket of my lab coat or I can choose to just carry a few of the loose-leaf pages around with me. There is a LOT of information crammed into this little book. It's generously illustrated with many relevant lists, tables, and algorithms, which condenses a ton of information. A very, very useful resource in deed, I recommend it for everyone studying or practicing Anesthesiology.

Efficient,

Simply put- Ehrenfeld & Urman's Pocket Anesthesiology is efficient. Only the most useful information for preparing a pre-op, intra-operative, and post-op plan has been included. Much information has been densely packed and has been organized in a way that whatever you're looking for is at your fingertips in seconds. The figures are thoughtful and include everything you need, nothing more. For a book it is surprisingly current with the most recent scholarship.

This little guide is jam packed full of tables and great deatailed information. I wish this book had been out while I was in anesthesia training. Great review information for those who have been out a while. Very useful addition to any resource library!

I found it a great resource. All information is well-organized into tables and algorithms, and enough content to make you ready for any case or an exam. Pharmacology chapter is very detailed and has great content and tables. Very practical and to the point with uptodate information. No other book on the market like this I think. Would recommend for any anesthesia resident or medical student.

This is a very popular item with my students. It is packed with information. The only drawback seems to be the small font.

This is a fantastic reference book to carry around in the clinical setting. It is easy to use and provides the essentials necessary when trying to read up on a subject on the fly. It tells you what you need to know without being too detailed.

I much prefer this book to mass gen, because it's smaller and more durable. Its format is briefer and more concise, so of course it's even less in-depth. but to me it's a good little reference guide, helpful to keep on you. a pda/smartphone version might be even more suited for the OR environment...

This book is absolutely awesome. I am a student nurse anesthetist and this book is invaluable!! Everyone who looks at it from anesthesiologists to CRNAs say I need to get a copy of this book. This book covers all aspects of anesthesia from co morbidities to trouble shooting complications that may occur while in the OR. This is a clinical must!!!
