Editorial Reviews

Review

"Something quite special . . . peculiar and magical. . . . Stories, comic strips, and new insights into the Boosh world make this a must-have for any devotee."  —Time Out

"Occasionally, a comedy show enters the public consciousness so far as to become a 'cultural resource.' It happened in the 1960s and 70s with Monty Python, and now with The Mighty Boosh . . . The Mighty Book of Boosh is beautifully produced, with a graphic design sensibility, and, above all, funny . . . Photos, drawings, illustrated 'crimps' and comic strips nod towards TV episodes but spiral off into graphic delirium . . . The joy of a joke is in the telling, and the examples collected here are delivered with an impeccable level of stupidity."  —Eye: The International Review of Graphic Design

"Every page is something vivid, wacky, and different than the prior page. I absolutely loved it."  —boingboing.net

"Goes beyond a thorough reference guide . . . its fresh, hilarious, and brilliantly put together material will make any Boosh fan love the show all the more."  —booshusa.com

"If Salvador Dali, Dr. Seuss, and Douglas Adams had ever cracked open a bottle of absinthe and written a sitcom, it might have turned out like this."  —Radio Times

"If there had ever been a collaboration between David Bowie, Anthony Burgess, and Maurice Sendak, author of Where the Wild Things Are, it might have turned out something like this."  —Observer

Finally! From live acts, to radio, to TV, and now to literature, The Mighty Boosh really "spans the genres" with some incredible flair. The Boosh Boys put enough outlandish hilarity into this little curio to enthrall everyone, be they tentative newcomers or manic die-hards. The Mighty Book of Boosh isn't really a book at all; it's an experience!
I swear, if this book doesn't make you laugh yourself into an asthmatic attack then you have my sympathy!

This book was totally worth the long wait it took to ship.

It's hard to put into words how much fun it is to read this book! You can immediately tell that a lot of love went into this project. Every page is clearly well thought out, in both content and design. Even the page numbers have amusing little sentences to accompany them. The writers have stayed true to their colorful characters and made sure to include as many as possible (if not all) within the pages of their book. Just like the show, itself, nothing about this book is dull (except maybe Howard's bits, according to Vince).

Just order it now, lest you anger a certain Cockney green geezer, from whom Jack the Ripper learned his "tricks."

THE MIGHTY BOOK OF BOOSH! A MUST FOR ANY FAN! This is a beautifully packaged, psychadelic collection of the creators inner workings, plus all their friends and fabulous characters. Colourful, impeccably detailed and brilliantly illustrated, you can peruse photos, travel stories and "real-life" musings from each character, e.g. Old Gregg's watercolours of Slash, or Howard Moon's Facial Expression Series.

PS Don't forget to check the page numbers!!! Very clever!!!

The thing I love about this book is how much time and effort you can tell the guys put into this. It's way bigger and has much more content than I expected (over 300 pages) and I loved all of it. Many of the familiar Boosh characters have their pieces in this book, along with loads of excellent pictures, hand drawn/written pages by Noel and tons more. The way they did the page numbers is a touch I particularly liked. They certainly put their all into this book and didn't get lazy or cheap with producing it! I would suggest this to anyone who likes the Mighty Boosh.

For fans of the Boosh, this is a definite must have. The book is absolutely beautiful, filled with Noel Fielding's illustrations, cast candids from on-set, Jazz mystery novels, and all sorts of little intricacies that help to flesh out the fantastical world that Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding have created. The only downside is that there isn't more of it!

Probably the most pointless thing you can ever own yet a must have for any Boosh fan! Has loads of drawings, a mini-comic, photos, and behind the scenes look at one of the most inventive shows.
