The ideal compact NKJV text Bible.,
By mr.litho (Portland, OR) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pocket Companion Bible: New King James Version (NKJV) (Leather Bound)
I normally read and study from the NKJV compact reference Bible, but often I just want to read without cross-referencing. When I see those small reference letters and footnotes I can't help it, and I still go to look them up. This compact Bible is the perfect text-only, with minimal cross references and footnotes. It is small and light enough to hold easily in your hands, but large enough to sit flat on a table with pages open. The text is relatively large and easy to read at an arms length. The royal leather soft cover is comfortable and warm to the touch. Occasionally I will give someone a Bible, and this is inexpensive enough that I wouldn't think twice about giving it away and buying two more.

Perfect little Bible,

My husband was tired of lugging his "big" Bible to church every Sunday, and had gotten comfortable with just using the pew Bibles provided by the church. When we switched churches, the new church did not provide pew Bibles, so my husband admitted that, if he had a smaller Bible to take to church, he would bring his own. I have owned a Nelson study Bible for years and I have really come to love the NKJV of the Bible, as it is easier to grasp than the KJV, but still sounds like the Bible, unlike the NIV, NASB and many of the more modern versions. We were pleased with how quickly the Bible arrived, and having used it for several weeks now, my husband is 100% satisfied with our purchase. It is small and easy to carry to church, but the font is still pleny large enough to allow for reading with no eye strain. The binding appears to be of good quality as well, and my husband has commented several times with how pleased he is with it, saying that it is the perfect little Bible to take to church.
