I have been in the fire protection technology business for nearly 3 decades. I am a field engineer that certifies fire alarm and special hazards fire suppression system installations worldwide. This little pocket guide has settled more disagreements and installation questions than I can count. I keep it in my back pocket or backpack for every field trip. It comes in three versions (1st, 2nd, 3rd) that corresponds to the NFPA Model codes for the last three cycles. If you are involved in fire alarm systems design and/or installations, you need these books to carry with you. You can only buy the latest version from NFPA, so use Amazon.com to find Versions 1 and 2.

A must have pocket reference for the FA industry. I have been able to find the info I need quicker and easier than ever before.

What makes this book useful is its understable language ... When you read the book , you never get bored with this book... It's good for construction industry professionals...

Before I say anything bad about this book, please hear the good first. The book is jam packed full of formulas, illustrations and mathmatical problems. The only hard part about that is the fact that it is a very difficult reference to use. I bought this book to assist with my NICET test and it did very little for me.

The book does not have near enough "narrative" in it to be a good source of factual information. Sure, it is good if all you need is pretty much formulas and things, but where is the "meat and potatoes" of it?

Also the book is EXTREMELY small (trivial I know) but seriously, it is only 3 X 4 X 1 inches. Kind of hard to read the small print.
