5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun!, May 29, 2000
By Jeannine Jewell (Dallas, TX) - See all my reviews
This was a great, handy book to have while visiting southern California. I have been on two of the tours so far. Both were accurate and fun. I am origianally from California, but live in Dallas now. This was a nice way to refresh my memory of the area, and find out new places to see. It is a must have if you are planning to spend some time in the southern California area.

5.0 out of 5 stars Have Fun!, April 11, 2000
By Jim Keene (Los Angeles) - See all my reviews
You will have fun reading this handy little book even if you don't go on the variety of tours it has to offer. The concise, often humorous, descriptions are full of little known facts on people and places all over L.A. There are museums, parks, landmarks, cemetaries and unique attractions I never knew existed and it was a great experience seeing them for the first time. Most of them were FREE! Pocket Guide to L.A. is not your typical Hollywood guide book. It is a entertaining and educational activity book that covers a wide range of interesting places to visit again and again. It would make a great gift.

5.0 out of 5 stars Born There, Never Done That!, March 6, 2000
By Shana Cunningham (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
Even though I was born and raised in the Los Angeles area, I never knew there were so many fun and interesting places to visit. The "Pocket Guide to the Best of Los Angeles" is assisting to provide my family and me with many exciting and educational experiences. Recently I visited the Museum of Tolerance. I must say that I have heard it advertised in the past, but had no desire to visit. It was quite a learning experience and now I am excited about choosing more places both for relaxation and education. Thank you "Pocket Guide to the Best of Los Angeles" for enlightening me to such experiences. Now when family and freinds visit, we will be able to plan exactly what we want to do, already knowing all the necessary details for a perfect outings.

I have had the pleasure of going on a few of the book's Adventure Tours and being able to read a biography about each of the stars certainly makes viewing their homes more interesting. The choice of only the prime super stars of today and the past was excellent. The driving directions were easy to follow, accurate and the stops on the tours were not too far apart.

I like the way the book is organized with various types of attractions separated from the tours, and also the recommendations on visiting other sights in the area. The book is just the right size to fit into my pocket or purse. While browsing, we noticed the clever comments by the authors throughout the book. A little humor is always good. I can't wait to try other adventures. My leisure time is valuable and the use of the web site addresses and other information in the pocket guide allows me to make the most of that time. As they say "Time is money" and this was money well spent.

Three Cheers For The Authors.
