This is a book that really lives up to its billing as a pocket-sized yet thorough introduction to bridge. The only beef with this book is that most of it is devoted to bidding, with a tiny portion at the end for play and defence. I expect the authors to issue a sequel on play and defense. That aside the material itself is outstanding and clear, and at a surprisingly good level of bridge for an introductory book. I would definitely recommend it as a handy reference for someone starting out in bridge.

I haven't played bridge for 23 years and needed a quick review I could take with me for reference. This is IT! I really like the point count guide to bidding and etc plus the small size. I had something similar that my Aunt loaned me and after she died it was lost. This replaces it.

I am glad I bought this book and have found it well written and very informative. The missing star is because it doesn't include some, of what I consider, normal conventions.

If you've played bridge before, this little spiral book is an easy to understand refresher. I haven't played in 30 yrs. Bidding has changed a bit over the years, but this book has caught me up on the newest bidding methods & conventions. I highly recommend it.

There are a lot of books on bridge out there, and most of them just make a difficult game more confusing. This one gives you what you need in an easy to find format. Three of us are learning bridge while our patient mentor looks on benignly, and all three of us keep this tidy, spiral bound 'how to' book next to us at the table.

So you are wanting to play Bridge. You've heard about it and seen your friends play, but you are reluctant to jump in because it all seems so complicated. Well this book is here to help. It not only shows you the rules of the game, it also gives strategy hints. Tactics to help best deal with certain situations.

Overall this is a great helper book. If you are thinking of learning Bridge, get this book first.
