About the Author
Kenneth W. Osbeck (LittD, Cornerstone University; MA, University of Michigan) taught for thirty-five years at Grand Rapids Baptist School of the Bible and Music and at Grand Rapids Baptist College. He also served as music director for Children's Bible Hour, Radio Bible Class, and several churches. He is the author of several books, including the best-selling Amazing Grace: 366 Inspiring Hymn Stories for Daily Devotions; 101 Hymn Stories; Hallelujah, What a Savior!; 25 Most Treasured Gospel Hymn Stories; and Joy to the World.

I wanted an easily understood manual for choir members who are spiritually committed and eager to improve their knowledge of the many facets of church music. This is the perfect resource for church choir members especially those with little or limited knowledge of music. Explanations of musical terms, examples and suggestions for improvement of the ability to read music are clear and concise. These factors give an impetus to the intention to provide copies for all members of a Methodist 35-voice choir in Guyana, South America. To God be the Glory!
