An ideal tool for students writing research papers across the disciplines, THE POCKET GUIDE TO APA STYLE, Third Edition, offers straightforward explanations, annotated examples, and margin notes designed to help students write properly documented papers in the latest APA style. Thorough and practical, this concise guide is not only less expensive and easier for undergraduates to use than the APA Manual, it also includes additional information about the research-writing process. In this updated edition, students will also find extensive coverage of electronic sources, preparing them to both evaluate and correctly use Internet references in their own research.

5.0 out of 5 stars The pocket guide for the dilligent student April 18, 2009
Format:Spiral-bound
Pocket Guide to APA Style

Mr. Perrins guide is absolutely excellent. It immediately had me writing in the proper format for APA. Any questions I had were well answered. About the only thing it didnt show me how to do was set up Microsoft Word to APA format. This guide contains 2 finished papers and information on how to cite everything and when. This is some of the most important information when it comes to APA format. I have had zero problems using this book to help write effective APA papers. This is a must have on the writing students book shelf as far as I am concerned

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Little Reference June 9, 2011
By Sparky
Format:Spiral-bound|Verified Purchase
My old APA manual was dated 1994; after attempting a few papers for grad class with it, I got notes on how bad my references were. Using the product review recomendations of others that ordered this manual, I got one for myself and it's great! It's consise, easy to navigate, and gives great examples to use. I highly recomend this manual for everyone; from high school to grad school!

1.0 out of 5 stars Crazy overpriced, cluttered March 29, 2011
Format:Spiral-bound
My friend gave me this for free, as she was done using it, but since it was a little beat-up I looked on Amazon for new APA format guides (not to mention I wasn't satisfied with this one)... and I spotted the current price. $26?! And I'm saving $4 off the regular price?! Look inflation has not gone up that much. For that price this pocket-sized, glossed-cardboard covered little thing can kiss the back of my jeans! It can't even redeem itself at the price. Not close. I guess due to the small pages, everything looks crammed together, not making for a smooth, easy, clear aesthetic. It confused me to look through all the little pages for explanations, and many of their tables were not clear to me. Plus, the part of APA that frustrates me most (properly citing references at the end) wasn't even covered that well! Look, if you think I'm just dense and whiny, just think of it this way: you can get a regular (and fairly) sized APA guide with twice as many pages worth of explanations and guidance for cheaper than this. I think it's insulting they would try and pull this.

4.0 out of 5 stars APA Style handbook December 31, 2012
Format:Spiral-bound|Verified Purchase
Concise, easy to find examples and instruction on how to document and collect various references and citations from traditional to internet resources. A handy size that can easily be used instead of carrying a full size reference book.
