Addicting fun, January 8, 2009
This review is from: The Pocket Idiot's Guide to Kaidoku (Mass Market Paperback)
This book definitely gets you thinking in different ways and, like crossword puzzles, expands your vocabulary! Solving the puzzles is like decoding a message and you don't have to be a crossword addict to do them! There are minor mistakes in a few of the kaidoku, but they are not important to reaching the solution. The first couple of chapters are very helpful in getting started. I don't know why the author compares kaidoku to sudoku; I didn't find it very similar at all. It is more of a code-solving puzzle which I love. I am just worried when I run out of these puzzles there won't be another book to go to!

Challenging, July 13, 2007
This review is from: The Pocket Idiot's Guide to Kaidoku (Mass Market Paperback)
This book presents a challenge, based upon knowledge of the formation of english words. I like that there are no obscure words or capitalized words. It seemed difficult at first, but once I did a few of them, it became addictive. It's too bad that this type of puzzle didn't catch on as did sudoku.
I would like to know if there are available any other books with kaidoku puzzles. Is this the only one ever written in english? If anyone reads this review, could he or she let me know if they know of any other editions or additional kaidoku puzzle books available. My email address is jnsteckel@verizon.com
