The book's intentions are good yet the print is very fine and hard to read. If you do not understand camera vocabulary such as SLR or autofocus, other words and all of the functions of the camera, this book won't be entertaining. If you have an APS or digital camera I wouldn't recommend you to buy this book for those categories are not present in this book, but if you are just looking for techniques for taking pictures or tips than this is the book of choice for you.

I'm doing a photography course in the fall and part of that course deals in taking photographs the old way with film(as well as digital) and getting them developed something although I have used camera's all my life I never quite understood them and how to use it properly.

I needed something to tell me the basics of camera use and I choose this book and I have to say its a great little book.

It tells you which camera to choose given your particular situation, which make ,which speed to use, which film to use its excellent I cannot rate it high enough.

It is an A5 sized book thats full to brim with practical information I would not be without it
