Book Description

The Pocket Idiot's Guide March 6, 2007
Move over, fad diets!

With the fading novelty—and declining popularity—of such fad diets as South Beach and Atkins, many people are turning to sensible, moderate eating habits. Along with this trend is an interest in superfoods, those foods that not only nourish the body, but also help fight disease. This pocket guide covers 30 disease-fighting, healthful superfoods and provides simple explanations of how they work.
--Includes coverage of 30 superfoods—more than other books

More About the Author

A registered dietitian, mom, and foodie. I love helping people eat the foods they love and love the foods they eat, all while eating nutritiously to help them feel great and be healthy.

I've worked with people, nutrition, and food in an assortment of ways over the years. In hospitals, health clubs, grocery stores and more. Via television, magazines, websites and books I've been able to help teach men, women, and children to eat healthier while still enjoying their food and therefore to live healthier lives.

A former national media spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association, I've been quoted in hundreds of interviews. I've also written for a variety of magazines including Woman's Day, Family Circle, Today's Diet & Nutrition, Prevention, Parents, and more.
