You’re no idiot, of course. You know your money can’t grow significantly sitting in an interest-bearing account in your 401(k) plan. Taking an active role in managing your portfolio and understanding how mutual funds work can result in big rewards. The Pocket Idiot’s Guide™ to Investing in Mutual Funds will show you exactly how to choose from the thousands of mutual funds and meet your financial goals. In this Pocket Idiot’s Guide™, you get the basics on all types of funds, including stock, money market, and bond funds, strategies for matching funds to your investing goals, tips on how to build your portfolio with a mix of mutual funds, and clear explanations of managed versus indexed funds.
I enjoy translating complex financial and political topics critical to people's everyday life in language that can be easily understood. I do this through my non fiction "how to" books for the Dummies series and the Idiot's Guides. I have more than 25 finance and political books on the market. Prior to writing books, I've worked as a daily newspaper reporter, a magazine editor, a press secretary for a U.S. Congressman and a fund raiser for former President Jimmy Carter, so he can continue his international work through The Carter Center. I earned my MBA at Emory University's Goizueta Business School and my BA at Rutgers University.
