5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Dictionary for Polish Learners, Hands Down
This is without a doubt the best affordable dictionary for Polish learners. The two most comprehensive and accurate Polish-English dictionaries out there are the Kosciuszko and the Oxford-PWN, but the full versions of those (both 2-volume monsters) are crazily expensive. 3.0 out of 5 stars It's OK..but missing a lot
This is a good dictionary overall but I found that it was missing many words especially when it came down to names of animals, trees, etc. If you are an advanced Polish speaker and need a dictionary to find very specific word translations that are not used commonly this would not be the ideal dictionary for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Dictionary for Polish Learners, Hands Down, September 26, 2009
This review is from: Pocket Oxford PWN Polish Dictionary (Paperback)
This is without a doubt the best affordable dictionary for Polish learners. The two most comprehensive and accurate Polish-English dictionaries out there are the Kosciuszko and the Oxford-PWN, but the full versions of those (both 2-volume monsters) are crazily expensive. Luckily, this dictionary by Oxford-PWN is much, much cheaper and still very comprehensive for all but the most advanced study. It has nearly 10x more words than the Pogonowski and more accurate translations as well. A lot of the other Polish-English dictionaries are from foreign language companies and are better when translating into their own native tongues (i.e. German-Polish for Langenscheidt, French-Polish for Larousse). But if you need precision in Polish-English, then this is the way to go. Just be warned: at over 1,000 pages it is hardly a "pocket" dictionary and may be a bit tough to carry regularly to class.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for New Learners of Polish, April 12, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Pocket Oxford PWN Polish Dictionary (Paperback)
I bought and returned this. It was not very good for English speakers learning Polish but I am sure it is great for Polish speakers needing to translate into English. The pages were yellowish which made it look like it was an old used book, but I bought it brand new.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great translations, NOT pocket size, February 28, 2011

This review is from: Pocket Oxford PWN Polish Dictionary (Paperback)
This is an excellent dictionary. I own Oxford dictionaries for other languages and am always pleased. However, this is rather large in size, so I'm not sure why they call it "Pocket". Great dictionary, but very big. If you're not planning on carrying it around, it's a good buy.
