My daughter purchased this pointer with some Christmas money. She wanted it to play school. It lasted two days before the extension broke off the end. She now wants a new pointer.

The pointer has a rounded end, not pointed, so it is not considered a threat at airport security and I can carry it with me.
Pointing with a stick has been the traditional way of pointing for teachers during centuries. It works because the stick offers a "path" that you can follow with your eyes, and find the place being pointed at. By contrast, a laser pointer is very distracting. To find the spot, you have to scan the entire area. If the spot moves too fast, it's probably gone by the time you finish your visual scan. I recommend a stick pointer, like this one, over a laser pointer.

I needed just the right pointer for a recent drama that I was in. This worked perfectly. It fit in my pocket and extended effortlessly each time. The vendor was very helpful in getting the product to me during the time crunch that I was in. I am completely satisfied!

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well for dog training, April 6, 2010

I purchased this retractable pointer specifically to train my GR. I use it to just touch her or to hold it next to her so she learns to use her rear end. It is the perfect length and size, collapses down to carry in the training bag to class or to keep in my pocket. For my needs it was perfect - doesn't wash well (lost the tip) so remember to take it out of your pocket before you wash your jeans.

Don't bother trying to find one of these in a store. I looked at Office Depot, Office Max, Wal-Mart, and Michael's with no luck. I ordered it from Amazon.com and got in in 3 days. I had to pay for shipping, but since it was on sale I ended up paying about the same as if I had bought it in a store. Thank you!

I never know when I might be tagged to conduct a presentation or a briefing as part of my job. Laser pointers work great, but they're pricey, not quite durable enough for military life, and the batteries always die at the worst possible time. This pointer is steel (I believe), requires no batteries, and clips to any pocket or uniform neatly. It's also extremely light-weight and has a very "professional" look. Works perfectly in the field or in a Command and Staff briefing. I'm very happy with it.

Simple, and works well. Some people love laser pointers, personally I hate them - I find it very difficult to watch a presentation by someone using a laser pointer - the red dot is usually way too small and non-moving for me to find it. The human eye notices movement well, but not a red dot well. This physical pointer makes it trivial for everyone to see what you're pointing at.

I need a pointer for some computer training I am doing. It was tiring and rude to keep leaning over the person I was working with to point something out. I first purchased a laser pointer but you could not see it on the screen. This pointer is light and is only the size of a pen when not in use.

I really like this product and use it a lot when working with others on the computer. It helps to be able to point at the screen without getting in peoples way.

I have been looking for a Pocket Pointer ever since one of my students bent the other one. No stores had them. Not even office supplies. Thank you so much for your prompt and speedy delivery.

4.0 out of 5 stars Handy pocket pointer, December 21, 2011

Well it is a pocket pointer. What can you say about a pocket pointer? We have used it in my research group
several times and has't fallen apart, yet. It looks quiite solid and we will be using it for a long time.
It is only good when you use it with a relatively small projector screen.
I believe it would have been better, if it were a little longer (couldn't find one).
