4.0 out of 5 stars Rack `Em Up & Then Check Out the Racks!, January 14, 2009

This review is for; Pocket Pool

"Pocket Pool" for the PSP may not be the best pool video game, but it's an unusual combination of a game with erotic pleasures that can satisfy the average, male adult. Rated M for mature adults, you play up to 13 different versions of pool including 8-ball, 9-ball, snooker and black jack (a version of pool where you must score 21 by hitting any combination of balls and your score is set to zero if you go over 21). The game features rotating camera angels, cue stick angle & power adjustments for shots that is well explained in the tutorial. Honestly, I'm an average to crappy pool player in real life, but this game makes me look like a champ thanks to an inconsistent AI opponent (especially during the popular 8-ball or 9-ball games). An AI opponent that often makes some amazing shots that will make you scratch your head ("how did he do that?"), but often makes dumb decisions or misses frequently towards the end just in time for you to pounce and win yourself. I found the AI opponent to be more competitive during 15-ball or snooker which I found more enjoyable to play later on.

The more you win the more that you unlock different pool rooms, tables, music tracks, pool balls and cue sticks. Also the more that you win the more photos (100) and videos (21) of half-naked, sexy women you unlock which is the real novelty of this game to attract the male perverts like me. Think Maxim or FHM magazine hot. Note there is no full nudity (neither topless or bottomless), but they are still very hot to look at. The videos last about two to four minutes each with music soundtracks. No pause or rewind on the videos, just play only.

One minor complaint about the game itself is that it has the worst auto-save feature I have ever seen. After each game is completed following any of your wins only, it asks you that 256K is required to save and it wants to know if you want to delete any existing files even though you have plenty of K's or G's in your memory card. Yikes, but no problem! Just enter "no", save the file and on you go.

The inconsistent AI opponent hurts the replay-ability of the game, but if you enjoy watching the women who cares! Directed at the target audience of mature male's adults, "Pocket Pool" is a satisfying game to pass the time with imagery of sexy ladies as your rewards for winning, but keep this one away from the kids!

This is a fun little game for those moments when you not doing much. It offers several pool games and allows you to play against a variety of pool players. The rewards for winning are rather nice. You gain a variety of pictures, movie clips or things like new ball patterns, new sticks. I found it a little addicting as the more you win, the better the pictures. It makes you want to win more just to see the next prize.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Pool simulation, December 26, 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Pocket Pool (Video Game)
This is a very good pool simulation. However, the instructions could have been better written. It took several hours to figure out how to set the options and to play the game. The game is rated for mature. The pictures of scantily clad women are not needed nor proper. More time should have been spent on the instructions. I am an experienced PSP and PC user and a technician. I feel that a less experienced user would find it very difficult to get started with this game. Never the less, this game is quite fun. Unlike those written by EA Sports, most of the features are not locked up. One can play quite a variety of pool games right from the beginning.
