5.0 out of 5 stars This is great for what it is., December 24, 2008

This review is from: The Pocket Recipe Guide: Museum of the American Cocktail (Paperback)
This book is as described. It is a small pocket guide of mostly recipes for classic cocktails. If you want a book with every drink ever in it, this is not for you. If you want a book with photos showing proper drink preparation, again this might not be your book.

If, however, you want a book filled with classic recipes for cocktails in a small size, this is your book! If you want a small book to leave around your shaker that makes you look cool for all of your drinking friends, this book is also good for that.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but not Great, June 5, 2011

This review is from: The Pocket Recipe Guide: Museum of the American Cocktail (Paperback)
This is a good small book with the basics and enough of the main drink recipes to get you started. Since it is pocket size don't expect as much of a drink variety as some books but you will find all the most popular drinks in here. Robert Hess is one of the editors who put this together. He is a creative mixologist, and bar owner who also does a bartending video blog from time to time on the "small screen network." It's worth checking out because he knows a lot about cocktail history and what the best techniques are for authentic cocktail preparation.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Pocket Size Cocktail Guide is a God Send!, March 28, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Pocket Recipe Guide: Museum of the American Cocktail (Paperback)
This fantastic cocktail guide fits in your pant's pocket for easy use, provides all the classic cocktail recipes, and a history of the cocktail for several of the drinks. A must have for all those that pride themselves on serving great cocktails and learning the history behind the drink that they are serving. This is a little work horse for a boozehound. Also, hats off to the Museum of the American Cocktail! May 13 should become a national holiday.
