5.0 out of 5 stars Polly Pockets/Mattel gets it right with this one
My daughter loves her Polly Pocket dolls, but the larger accessories have been the pits. Usually, the playsets are flimsy, and things like slides, stairs, elevators, and other parts fall off during normal play. This boat is a welcome improvement to those more flimsy sets.

This boat has a slide, swing-out panels, a pull-out section in the stern, and pop-open...

I bought this for my 5 year old daughter who has fully loved her Polly Pocket dolls. She has spent many hours imaginatively playing, so I thought a playset would be a great Christmas present.

WRONG!!

This ship falls apart at the slightest touch. Many of the pieces are tiny bits of junk. All the railings fall off. The floor parts that swing out, fall off. The slide even comes apart easily. It has been one big frustration.

Don't buy, unless you have children that are all older.

5.0 out of 5 stars Polly Pockets/Mattel gets it right with this one, November 10, 2008

My daughter loves her Polly Pocket dolls, but the larger accessories have been the pits. Usually, the playsets are flimsy, and things like slides, stairs, elevators, and other parts fall off during normal play. This boat is a welcome improvement to those more flimsy sets.

This boat has a slide, swing-out panels, a pull-out section in the stern, and pop-open doors with a launch ramp in the bow triggered by flipping a chair down onto trap doors...very cool. The construction feels solid for a plastic, mass-produced toy.

We purchased this as part of a buy-one, get-one-free offer from Polly Pockets, along with Polly Pocket's Ultimate Pool Party Playset. The Pool Party Playset is like the more typically flimsy Polly playset.

3.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a Polly toy that doesn't fall apart after 2 seconds!, October 26, 2007
This review is from: Polly Pocket Ultimate Party Boat Playset [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging] (Toy)
This is by far the sturdiest Polly Pocket toy we have ever purchased! My daughter loves it and it has not fallen apart - not even once! As someone who has purchased (and been dissappointed with) a lot of Polly Pocket toys and playsets, I'm happy to say that The Cruise Ship is one of the more worth-while Polly toys.

4.0 out of 5 stars Party Boat is a Great Gift, January 9, 2009

There are lots of cute Polly Pocket toys on the market and all of them have lots of small pieces involved. I must report that my Grand daughters, aged 7 and 4, played with this Party Boat for hours! I do believe it was their favorite Christmas gift. The boat is good-sized and has many adorable features with it - including a jet ski that pops out of the side of the boat...The 4-year old just loved the little hammock! They had fun re-arranging the furniture over and over again! I am very pleased with the product. It was a good buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars The moving parts actually work!, November 4, 2008

I purchased two of these for my two daughters, ages 6 and 3-1/2, and they love these boats. Unlike some of the other cheaply made Polly Pocket sets, this one actually works. Even my 3-year-old can load the mini-boat into the front of the ship, put the Polly Pocket doll into the blue lounge chair, and press down on the pink roof to eject the mini-boat with the doll seated in it.

My 3-year-old loves the functionality of the boat, while my 6-year-old loves the included mini-pool and having her dolls take cruises around the room. To open up the mini-pool, you pull on the pink handle at the rear of the boat, and the boat slides open. Also, a side panel pivots open to reveal something resembling a party deck.

Overall, this is a great toy. I hope it doesn't break! So far, so good.

1.0 out of 5 stars Over priced Junk, February 6, 2007
This review is from: Polly Pocket Ultimate Party Boat Playset [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging] (Toy)
This thing is flimsy...difficult to put together and keep together and not appropriate for anyone under the age of 8 even though the recommended ages are 4-8. The fence will not stay on, the hammock does not work at all If it was 25$ even 30$ I probably wouldn't complain, but fo 75$ I expected something a little better and more entertaining. My 6 year old daughter got this and the Theme park for Christmas and to be honest I found both to be the most disappointing toys of this Christmas, and the biggest rip off of the year.

My daughter has really enjoyed playing with this boat. It was a very nice addition to her Polly Pocket collection. It doesn't seem as flimsy as other Polly toys & all the slides & moving parts seem to work well.

My daughter recieved this gift for christmas this year. She is 3 1/2 and loves playing with little dolls. She has fun playing with the boat and putting other toys inside it, but I did throw out a lot of the smaller pieces. The doll and the jet ski are the only ones she plays with. It definatly needs gentle care not a toy that can be thrown around. Overall for [...] it was well worth it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Okay., December 25, 2008
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Polly Pocket Ultimate Party Boat Playset [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging] (Toy)
My 7yo got this for Xmas and it was her favorite present, she really loves it and gets lots of imaginative play from it. We also got another Polly Pocket (Sparklin' Pet Mobile) and this was a complete disaster and falls apart whenever you touch it, so I can understand some other reviews about the flimsy nature of this product range. Needs gentle hands.

5.0 out of 5 stars cheap but fun p.p. playset, December 18, 2010
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This toy is fun and I would recomend it for ages 5-10. But like most other doll toys it is NOT very educational. The boat is said to float but rather than float it sinks and soaks the boat and everything on it.
