Contemporary Hawaiian Music at its best,
By Lyle S. Oberkreser (Naples, FL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Pocketful of Paradise (Audio CD)
I recently visited Hawaii and enjoyed listening to the local contemporary music stations. It was during this trip that I first heard NaLeo. I loved two songs, "Pocketful of Paradise" and "Sugar Cane Shack". I bought the CD and was pleasantly surprised to discover that the whole CD was great! This CD has a delightful mix of oldies, redone with an island feel, as well as some new songs. I hope that you enjoy this CD as much as I have. It has allowed me to remember my trip to the Islands whenever I put it in.

Good but not Great,
This review is from: A Pocketful of Paradise (Audio CD)
Na Leo is best at their original and hawaiian songs. "With a Little Help From My Friends" and "You've Got a Friend/Lean on Me" are not as good as songs like "Hawai'i Nei" or "Hapai Hula" or "Saving Forever". This is still an enjoyable album, but I don't like it as well as "I Miss You My Hawaii".

Brings Back Memories,
This review is from: A Pocketful of Paradise (Audio CD)
After an absence of 7 years I returned to Hawaii for a visit last year. I had lived in the islands for close to 30 years and when I heard the music of Na Leo Pilimehana group at a friend's house I loved it. Upon returning to the mainland, I purchased this CD. Everytime I listen to it I remember my life in Hawaii.
