This bottle is a life saver. We use it on car rides, plane rides, for middle of the night feedings, on long walks in the stroller, or when I'm baby wearing my little one in the store and he gets hungry.

It's a little hard to get started at first, so I just suck the formula into the nipple to get it started and then give it to baby. He loves it. And I'm able to get more rest at night. It is true that baby will sometimes pull it out of his mouth via the tubes, but generally if he does that, he's not really hungry. The majority of the time, if he's really hungry and not just playing around, he keeps it in just fine. (I think he just gets a kick out of me having to keep putting it back in his mouth, personally). My baby is four months and starting to use his hands now more and actually holds it in his mouth himself most of the time-- not that it's necessary.

Only downsides are: pain in the rear to clean, with all the parts, and the numbers that show you the ounces rubs off REALLY easily. Ours are completely gone. Do NOT put the tubes in the dishwasher. I made that mistake and now I'm back here buying more!

We bought a set of Podee system because of the positive reviews. So far we have tried it a few times, and the results are uneven. A couple of times the baby hang on to the nipple and ate 3-4 oz without any fuss. Most of the time, however, it got spitted out constantly. Our twins are two months old. I think when they are a little older the system will be much more useful.

One problem with the system is that it leaks. First of all, if you shake it to mix formula you will get some leak. But this is a minor problem. It also leaks between the ring and the adapter when the babies suck the nipple, a far more annoying problem. We tried to different ways and tightness to screw on the adapter, and the problem persisted.

Now we do find an interesting solution to the leak problem. We have some 4 oz Dr. Brown bottles, which are extremely nice. We also have some cheaper Evenflo 8 oz bottles. The Evenflo bottles also leak like hell, and the nipples suck (forgiving me for the pun). However, the Dr. Brown system fits Evenflo bottles perfectly, and it doesn't leak. So this is a great deal, as Evenflo bottles are much cheaper than Dr. Brown bottles. But there is something even better: The Evenflo cap ring, even though it leaks on its own bottle, does not leak on the Podee system! It screws on the Podee bottle perfectly, and fits the adapter flawlessly. You can shake the bottle to mix formula without having to worry about leaks. The Evenflo bottle comes with an additional cap to be placed on the nipple, which also serve perfectly as a nipple holder for the Podee system (you want this unless you prefer the nipple to dangle around and drip milk/formula everywhere).

They exactly have a cleaning tool to clean out the tube so we don't any bacteria issues because back in that time they didn't have a way to clean it. As you can see in my photo they do now.

My twin girls started using this about a week ago - They are almost 4 months old.
I needed something to help me during those times when BOTH of them were fussing and screaming to be fed. They're at an age where they can't sit up on their own or hold a bottle, so I have to feed them both myself. It's not easy --

I quickly ordered these thinking that I just needed a quick solution ... then I read some of the negative reviews and decided to cancel my order.

FORTUNATELY for me, they had already shipped so I was unable to cancel. I could just refuse the pkg when it arrived, but instead I decided to give them a try.

I didn't know how to 'prime' these, but quickly figured out that it just meant to squeeze the nipple to get the liquid up through the straw.

Like others have commented - the fluid does not stay up in the nipple. There is a bit of air at the top of the straw leading to the nipple sometimes but the girls have not had ANY problems with gas. The nipple is not FULL when they drink but it does have fluid in it and every suck pulls more into the nipple and then into their mouth. There is a small reserve in the nipple when they feed.

Rarely the straw completely empties b/c the girls have left the nipple in their mouth without sucking, and they breathe regularly with it just sitting in their mouth - thus pushing the fluid down back into the bottle. The girls do not have a problem sucking it back up the straw, though it takes a few sucks. At which point they are taking in air. Still - no problems with spit up or gassy-ness so far.

One of my girls has trouble keeping this in her mouth, same thing with a pacifier for her -- so I have to keep putting it back in.

They are a good idea, but not great in use because the milk has to travel too far and the baby doesn't like sucking air. If the milk stayed up at the nipple it would work, but it drops back into the bottle instantly if suction is lost (from babies mouth).

Our baby is accustomed to the regular bottles (where the milk comes out instantly), so when I tried this he couldn't do it. Basically, he sucks it up but the first 3 sucks are pure air, then the milk finally gets to the nipple but he has lost interest (thinking it isn't giving him milk so why continue), he stops and the milk goes back into the bottle. Second attempt, same thing.

Basically, as soon as you stop sucking for even a millisecond the milk goes all back into the bottle and the lines fill with air that must be sucked out again prior to getting milk.

Maybe with practice it could work, but our baby didn't like it, therefore neither do I. Maybe an older child would have more luck, our baby is only 4-5 months old....and he expects milk on the first, second or third suck, not the fourth....so he quits after the third suck for just a second and then tries again but has to start over...

Long story short he never got any milk from this bottle ever...we are saving it in case he can use it when he is older.
